ANNIVERSARY SERVICE
AT BELGRAVE CHURCH
BELGRAVE—Once again a suc-
cessful Sunday School anniversary
and flower service was held ' in
Knox United Church on Sunday
morning; June 14. The front of the
church was decorated to represent
a ship with the anchors and life
belts the following virtues: Hope,
honor, duty, prayer, faith, kind-
ness and trust. The ship was Made
mainly with flowers and evergreen
boughs, Other baskets of summer
flowers and ferns completed this
setting. At the back of the choir
loft was a large cross and below
this were the words, "Our Anchor".
The choir was made up of the
senior classes of the Sunday
School singing two anthems, "I Do,
I Do, I Do" and "That's Why I
Love Him". The junior members
of the Sunday School and their
teachers marched in a body to oc-
cupy the front seats of the church
from where they sang an anthem
too.
Ross Anderson, Sunday School
superintendent, was in charge of
the service and gave the call to
worship. Barry Logan led the re-
sponsive reading and Linda Johns-
ton read the Scripture lesson. The
guest 'speaker was. Mrs, Child' bf
Wesley Church in London.

Evening Auxiliary of the Woman's
Missionary Society of Knox United
Church to her home on Tuesday
evening, June 9, The president,
Mrs, Gordon Bosman opened the
meeting with a hymn followed by
the minutes by Mrs. Clarence
Hanna and the treasurer's report
by Mrs. Robert Granby, There were
eight home and 12 hospital visits
to the sick and shut-in recorded.
The roll call was answered by 22
members and two visitors.
A letter of thanks was read from
the 19th Field Regiment Associa-
tion to the ladies for the dinner
they served at the arena, It was
decided to play a game of ball
with the CGIT girls on June 26.
The group decided to register two
names for the school for leaders
.t Alma College. A bale is to bd
sent the last week of June.
The next five meetings will be
held at the 'following homes: July,

Clifton Walsh; September, Mrs
