There were a number of outside exhibits that attracted considerable attention this year, along with 'a booth op- erated by the Kinettes and a good midway. The fair Was officially opened by Paul Mills, Governor-elect of Dis- trict No, 1 of the Association of Kinsnien Clubs, assisted by To- ronto Maple. Leaf hockey players Carl Brewer and Bobby Balm, who pulled the switch turning on the lights•at the arena to mark the of- ficial opening. Also on the plat- form were John Hanna, Jack Wal- The second annual edition of the Wingham Kinsmen Trade Fair op-. ened last Thursday evening and continued until its wind-up on Sat- urday night. -It was well patroniz- ed with over 4,000 peopleattending the big Show, The !Air in general was better than the first One staged last year. Exhibitors had found many ways in which to improve their exhibits, and the over-all appearance of the fair was 'of top quality, With near- ly ,fifty firms represented there was, a great variety of merchandise on display. Exhibitors included many out of town firms as well as FORD:WWII-Mr. and 'Mrs'. H. M. Bride celebrated their 58th wed- ding .anniversary on 'June 5th. -They airere '-guests of Mr. and 'Me' teriizzley. The Kinsmen Club had wishing well and money thrown into the pool will go to 'time swimming -Pool fund. The club has committed it- Self to raising $10,000 over a five- year period to ,help build 'a sivim- ming pool and the fair is one meth- od by which the group hopes to .reach this Objective. The midway on the grounds just to the west of time arena drew a good crowd 'of youngsters (amid quite a number of older folk as well) and was a major part of the eetertaltunent of the fair, The midway included a ferris wheel, merry-go-round, small cars and a pony ride, All told the three-day event once again proved 'to 'be a highly popular attraction in 'Winghain, and there is no doubt that it took plenty of hard work on the part of. the Kinsmen and exhibitors alike, Mrs. DuVal Writes' L,Yrics. tor-Song Mrs. A.
