Organized Last Week
On Tuesday; May 19, the Bel-
grave-Seaforth Co-operative Feed-
er Steer Club meeting was held at
Belgrave. 'The executive was. elect-

Troop met last Wednesday evening
as the boys •went on a hike. They
cooked a •.meal over, an open fire
and played a game.
One investiture took place while
on the hike, when Lynn Finnigan
was welcomed into the troop.
On Friday,,,Boh.McIntyre, Jim
English, Dick Scott,- Darryl Gib-
son and David Wenger went to
Chesley to attend 'a Bronze Arrow-
head course. The course consisted
of a series of lectures, interspersed
with games, They returned home
Saturday night and will now be
required to turn in written answers
to a questionnaire which each re-
eeived at the close of the course.

meeting of the wavr.s, of the
Calvin-Brick United Church was
held on Wednesday evening at'the-
home of Mrs. Edwin Smyth, with
nineteen ladies present. Mrs, E,
Dow was in, charge of the worship
Service, The theme of the meeting
was, P4Cod.-Lovcs PooPio,%! -Mrs" Dew gave the call to worship, led
in prayer, and in the Lord's Prayer)
and in tl`e Lord's nrayer in vnisen.
Mrs, Kenneth Mason read the
Scripture lesson and aVfrs. Dow
gave the comments on the Scripture
and led in a discussion.
The topic, "Unemployment and
Immigrants", was in charr,e of
Mrs, Calvin Robinson. IVErs, Gilbert
Eamon and Mrs. Harry Cook,
They explained that unemployment
was 'the major problem affecting
immigrants and Canadians, Mrs,
Beecroft led in a discussion on the
basic cause of this, how immi-
gration is planned, where our immi-
grants are settling what they are
doing, and what attitudes should be
toward, immigrants, and how immi-
gration affects Canadian economy.
Plans were made for a special
entertaining meeting for Jima 19,
and invitations sent, 'to Wingham
W.M.S., Belgrave afternoon and
evening IV.14ES„ and Whitechurch
W.M.S. Miss Rena Sennell of Sea-
forth, who attended the S.S, world
convention in Tokyo in 1958, will
be the speaker.
Mrs. Chas. Shiell and Mrs, Dow
were appointed as a welcoming
committee, and ushprs, lunch com-
mittee and social committee were
also named, Mrs.Gordon McHurn-
ey reported that 175 lbs. of wool-
lens had been shipped to the Pres-
ton Woollen Mills 'to be made into
blankets. Mrs. Ronald Coultes
called the roll for the number of
hospital and sick visiting calls, or
cards gent.
The ladies were asked to attend
a work-bee in the manse at Bei-
grave this Wednesday, 'and the
president, Mrs. Norman Coultes
closed the meeting with the bene-
diction. The hostess served a de-
licious lunch. .
