held their regular monthly Meet-
ing on May 12th. A resolution re-.
questing that the Department - of
Highways give more serious con-
sideration- to avoiding the destruc-
present from Walkerton, Kincar-
dine; North Bay, Hamilton, Port
Colborne, Stratford, Handver, Lon-
don, Wroketer, Port Perry, Elm-
wood and Wingham and district.

In response to a request from the
government for suggestions to in-
crease the percentage voting in
municipal elections it was suggest-
ed that the rate of pay for coun-
cillors set by the Dept. of Muni-
cipal Affairs should be raised.
Also it was felt that, since this'
was a privilege of citizenship in a
free country, the Federation should
do all in its power to encourage
everyone to vote.
Warren Zurbrigg reported ion the
O.F.A. members' meeting of May
7th. A good portion of the time
was spent in discussing the new
support price on dairy products,
particularly on milk po'vder. With
the 'former floor of 150 on spray
powder in bulk the consumer is
paying 35c 'per lb. package. Now
that the floor has been dropped to
10c it will 'be interesting to see if
,the retail price drops to 30c.
The announcement that W. C.
Good's book on the history of farm
organization in Ontario was most
welcome, The County Federation
is ondering 10 copies for re-sale to
anyone wishing this book, It
should fill a real need to give us
a background into what has hap-
pened in the past.
Doug Miles, agricultural repre-
sentative reported that the Brucel-
losis canvass 'had been completed
with about 90% of the farmers
favouring this project, Mr. Miles
expressed appreciation to the Fed-
eration for the time and effort in
carrying out this canvass.

"At the reception tendered by the
congregation, •gifts were presented
to Dr. Perrie by the several or-
ganizations of the church: the Ses-
sion, Women's Association, Even-
ing Guild, Choir and the Couples'
Club, Among the gifts were a
Geneva gown and the hood, sig-
nifying the degree, Mrs. Perrie
was presented with a bouquet of
roses,
"Dr, Perrie is a native of Wing-
ham and a son of the manse. His
father, the late Dr. David` Perrie,
was Moderator of General Assem-
bly in 1920. Dr. Perrie's wife is a
niece of the late ,Mrs. Allan Mills,
also of Wingham. They have a
family of three, two sons and a
daughter, Anne, who in September
is entering Queens University, her
mother's Alma Mater,
"In 1956 Dr. and Mrs. Perrie and
family came to Stretsville and al-
ready have endeared themselves
to the congregation of St. An-
drew's, as well as to the community
at large.
"Dr, Perrie graduated from Uni-
versity College, Toronto and in 1029
from Knox College, taking honors
in Greek and Hebrew. Following
his ordination he served at St. An-
drew's Presbyterian Church, North
Battleford, Sask., and later in the
mission charge of North Hill and
Pleasant Heights in Calgary.

rie was in the charge of Hastings,
