GORRIE--Tuesday night was
441 Club night in Gorrie when Art.
Bolton, assistant , agricultural rep,
reSentative, was here from Clin-
ton for the organization of 4-H
Clubs in Howiek and Turnbert'y,
Townships.
It was decided to have"two sepe
rate 'calf clubs .as the membership
was thought too large for one.
William Campbell, Jim Robinson
and John Strong were appointed
leaders for both clubs.
Dairy Club officers are as fol-

Mr. George Townsend returned
'last week from Stratford, where he

Sympathy of the community goes
to Mrs. Melvin Taylor in the death
of her mother, Mrs, Agnes Thomp-
son, of Clifford.
Mrs. Thos, Short was able to re-
turn to her home on Thursday af-
ter spending four and a half
months in Palmerston Hospital
with a broken hip.
There were six tables in play at
the L.O.L, euchre on Wednesday
evening. Prize winners for the la-

for the men, William Taylor,

WINGHAM
Gorrie, Mrs, George Dawson of
Elmwood, died Monday, April 6 in
the Hanover Memorial Hospital
after an illness of two months. She
was the widow of the late George
Dawson, a former undertaker and ,
furniture dealer in Gorrie for many
years. She was in her 88th year.
Born April 15th, 1871, in Bentinck
Township, she was a daughter of
the late Mr, and Mrs, Henry Geis.
She married Mr. Dawson in Jan-
uary 1907. He died in 1942.
She was a member of Elmwood
Evangelical United Br e t h r e n
Church. Surviving are seven nieces
and five nephews, Funeral service
was at the Richardson funeral
home, Hanover, on Wednesday at
2.30 p.m, with the Rev.. C. 13. Heck-
endorn of Chesley in charge. Bur-
ial was in Hanover cemetery.

Club was held in the Gorrie Com-
munity hall on Tuesday, April 7. A
good attendance was present.
Art Bolton showed films on far-
ming which were enjoyed. He also
gave out record books, signs and
pamphlets which are needed in
4-H clubs.
