Decorations For inexpensive decorations with a custom look, try experimenting now with the gleaming white plastic, Styrofoam, that is sold in various shapes - wreaths, balls, bells, sleighs and Christmas trees. Ornaments and foliage can be affixed to Styrofoam with tooth- picks, pins, wire or pipe cleaners and for special colours and effects the material can be painted or sprayed. You might want to try this strik- ing deeoration for a hallway. It consists, of a large tree-shaped piece of Styrofoam, to one side of which is pinned natural foliage. (Trimmings from the real tree it- self are an obvious choice.) When completely covered, ropes of pearls or strands of beads borrowed from your jewel box are secured at the outside edges and criss-crossed over` the foliage. Small tree orna- ments are then hung where the, strands cross and the tree topped' with a gold-sprayed Styrofoam star, The tree is light enough to be hung flat on a wall, against a Mirror or to stand oh its own base Made from two half sections of Styrofoam, Sprinkled with glitter, "Let me tell you how you con have The 3 BestYears of Your Life" Sufis Ski. Coultes and Cecil Coultes: Winners of the travelling Young and Old Traffic Peril Children and older people are in- evitable perils to traffic, according to the Canadian Highway ,Safety Conference. Children through in- nocence, older people through in- firmities, will always turn up in traffic's path, crossing streets and• highways, emerging suddenly from between parked vehicles and turn- ing up in so many unsuspected ways. These penestrians, claims the Conference, are the motorist's responsibility. Drivers of vehicles will experience anger, terror and frustration because of them, but the fact remains that these menac- es will unfailingly exist and it is the chore of the driver to save their lives and preserve them from injury and, suffering. CHSC urried to agree that there are other types of pedestrians not so blameless. These people •seem to defy motorists to run them down. The death toll on Canada's streets and roads is swollen yearly because some driv- ers take that dare, either unin- tentionally or ,indirectly.; PedeV tHICKENS 4 prizes were Mrs. James R.
