, FORDWICH—The Woman's As-
sociation of the Foidwich United
Church met in the church parlour
for the August meeting. In the ab-
Sence of the president, Mrs. Glenn
Johnston, Mrs, Win, Wilson presid-
ed. Mrs. George Bauer was appoint-
ed secretary in place of Mrs,' Wm,
Campbell, who was unable to be
present.
',The theme .of the meeting was
'-'Our Share , in Making.. Christ
Known to the World". The hymn,
'bh Master Let ke • Walk with
Thee" was sung, Mrs N, Holland's
read the Scripture assort. 'The
meditation and prayer were led-by
the president:- "
'The minutes of the last meeting
were read. The roll call was ans-
wered and correspondence was
.read. The treasurer was authoriz-
ed to pay the association's share
of the Vacation School eXpenseS
and their half of the expenses for
sending the spring bale,
A fowl supper and bazaar were
discussed but no decisions were
made, The rest of the afternoon
was spent in quilting. Pot luck
lunch was enjoyed.

FORDWICH—The secretary of
Fordwich Institute received word
front the provincial office that
'honorable mention was given to
their quilt blocks at the judging
for all Ontario, which took place,
in Toronto.
The winner wis be announced at
a tea in the Royal York on August
19th.
' The August meeting of the Bel-
grave Women's Institute Will be
held on Tuesday, August 19, and
this, is the Grandmothers' meet,
trik. Convener is MrS. S. ?rooter.
Mrs, Herb Wheeler will give
reading. The address will be by
Mrs, George Mithie and music will
be by the grandmothers. The roll
call will be answered with "An
Incident of Pioneer Days." There
Will be a display of quilts, old and
new, and quilt bloelca. Lunch will
be served by Mrs, L. Storehouse,
Mrs. C. togan and Mrs, S, Black.
