Kay • A . A phase of amateur photography that can 'be very interesting is taking snapshots of farm animals. Here is an area that calls, for a little more than just a camera, films and flash bulbs. To these must be added, another factor so often necessary in picture-taking, namely, patience. Yes, if you have the patience and a camera, the farm presents a host of snapshot possibilities. As a farm guest, be careful of your host's property. Put your flash bulbs into your pocket or gadget bag immediately after use and never, never use the flash without a protecting cover if yen are in or near the barn or close to such materials as hay or Straw. And whatever you do; DON'T SMOKE!! Farm animals are accustomed to people and are not usually dis- turbed if approached normally and cautiously. Hence a- mare and her foal, in a pasture field, Will probably pay no attention to you as long as you don't get too 'close or make any. quick, unnatural movements.
