33/4 cups juiCe (about 21/2 quarts
ripe berries) •
11/2 cups (33/4 lbs.)''iugar •
• Ye cup-grained lemon juice •
1, bottle Certo ,
To prepare juice. Crush thorough-
about 2% quarts fully ripe
berries. Place in jelly cloth or bag
and squeeze out juice. Measure
344 ,ctips juice and 3/4 cup lemon
juice into a very large saucepan.
To make jelly, To the measured
juice in saucepan, add 7% cups
sugar and mix well. Place over
high heat and bring to a boil, stir-
ring constantly. At once stir in
Certo. Then bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 'minute, stir-
ring constantly. Remove from
heat, skim of foam with metal
spoon and pour quickly- into
glasses. Cover at once with at,
inch hot paraffin. Makes about 11
Medium glasses.

The Ninernen Trade Fair the
latter part of lot week was one of
the mest successful events held here
for sonic time.. The chit) members
planned and prepared for months
in adVance and during the last few
weeks were working at fever pitch.
Their efforts were certainly well
rewarded, both exhibitere and the
spectators being well pleased.
It took many hours to see and
examine all the diselaye. Wender-
ing above was hard on the feet and
Tempternan's rest booth, was a
popular spot as people relaxed for
4 few moments before startieg out
agate to see all the fine exhibite,
Mr. Kaufman of Listowel, a feet
specialist'who visits Wingheen
every couple of weeks,Was on hand
to advise and administer to the
foot weary, In the Niagara of
Western Ontario booth visitors to
the fair found relief from fatigue
through massage and specially dee
signed vibrating furnetule.
There were well over 40 exhibits,
all attractively eleceeated. Atteed-
aeice was beyond • expectations
•througheut and 'it is Understodd,
that a number of eoncespions. have
already been reserved for next
year. '
.rspecielly interesting to people
in the district were the produces
manufactured right here in Wing-
ham by Iocal people. Many vieWers
were surprieed ..at the variety and
quality of these lines.
Wingham Manufacturing ., Com-
pany had a colorful display of
Winmanco toilet '.seats, mostly
plastic, which they now 'make in
fourteen different colors. They also
had the oak finish wooden neat and
the sheet Covered seat, The latter
is made of wood with • a pleseic
cover in pearlescent finish glued
to the wood. The firm uses nylon
bearings exclusively fOr all hinge,
which are guaranteed against co-
reside. •
The Co-op Insurance Association
pointed out the pitfalls of care-
lessness around the hoine, farm
and on the highways through the
use of a' display board on which
was a complete layout of buildings.
With •toy machinery, vehicles, live-
stock and people they 'depicted
dozens of types of accidents that
occur daily.
The background of the ' Co-op
booth consisted of ;large pictures
of the various )braneh plahts.. The
Viscount deep freeze was on dis-
play and several Universal milk-
ing machines. Many of the young-
sters got their 'first look at' the
oece-familiar hand churn and were
delighted with the electrically dri-
ven dairy maid, busily operating
the churn,
There were two displays' of con-
crete burial vaults, These are wa-
terproof, reinforced and prevent
sunken graves and were shown by
C. J. Pink and Son, who manufae-
tura their product in London, and
Haberer-Weselake of .Zurich.
Electrolux of Canada had the
new Elax-b-Matid vacuum cleaner
OD display with e. fell range of at-
tachments. 'While this 'equipment
was not in operation one coeld.see
that there were a number of in-
tereeting features. The same firm
had aafloor polisher in the exhibit
that is not merely a polisher but
also cleane hardwood floors, scrubs
tile and applies the wax,
Walker Home Furnishings feae
tired the KroehIer 65th anniver-
sary suite, designed for this anni-
versary year. The beautiful ivoty
finish threa-piece suite consists 'of
a bookcase 'double b6d, 54" dresser
and 36" chest. The dresser and
chest are made of 5-Ply mahogany
veneer with solid top and gables
and duet proof drawers. The top
drawers are recessed and smartly
curved. The dresser has a large
plate glass mirror. This suite is
also available in autumn mahogany
which is a darker color than the
one shown at the fair.
In this booth, too, was a bam-
be() Saucer chair, a swivel and
rocker chair with wooden arms
and straight lines, 'The Kroehler
relaxer chair of combination plas-
tic and cloth with built-in vibra-
tor attracted many spectators,

and representatives of the firm
were on hand to give advice on
grains, and livestock feeding.
Sperling's Hardware, 13lytn, pre-
sented a coMplete line of propane
gas appliances, The' Clare Jewel
Standard as a compact range tak-
ing up little space but a very ea
11pient stove, The ,Deluire model,
a 80" range with automatic oven,
has a roast tender, a therenome-
ter which Is inserted into the inset
The controls are set accordingly
and when the roast is done the
oven turns off by itself. It has one
automatic burner which • can be
set for "any desired temperature
and will remain at that heat in-
definitely. Another feature is the.
broiling rack beneath the oven.
Sparling's also had a display of
propane water heaters, comPletely
'automatic and available in 30 to
100' kgallon sizes, A floor furnace,
thermostatically controlled takes

Wingham Branch 180 of the Ca-
nadian Legion had an attractive
booth in which they displayed a
number of Curtin end. bowling
trophies. The Pattison Radio and
Electric trophy has been wen by
the local branch for the pant two
years and was among the awards,
The Past Presidents' plaque cen-
tred the display with the names of
all the presidents since. the forma-
tion in 19317 when Herb Campbell
was the charter president... The
charter hung on the wall, flanked
by the branch colors. The table was
decorated in red, 'white and ' blue

The outstanding feature of, the
