Delegates appointed to the dis-
trict annual meeting to he held at
Wroxeter on May 27th are: Miss
Ruby 'Duff and Mrs. Jos. Horton,
"Cho secretary, Mrs. W, J. Pea-
cock gave a brief report on the
4-11'Club Girls' activities.
Mrs, II, Burrell of Wingham out-
lined the method of securing a
projector and films for the Wo-
men's institute; or any community
organization,
The guest speaker was Mrs. Or-
land Richards, of Lucknow, pro-
vincial convener of Agriculture and
Canadian Industries. Her subject
was "Conservation." In view of her
office, Mrs, Richards is a member
of the Conservation Council which
meets at ,Toronto. The members
make a thorough study of all as-
-peals of conservation, Some of
these were mentioned in Mrs. Rich-
aid's address, sktch as land Use,
forestry, erosion, fisheries drain-
age. "Litterbugs," who despoil the
country of its beauty; received at-
tention, A fine up to $50 is punish-
ment for littering roadsides and
beauty spots.
Mrs, M. Li, Aitken introduced the
,speaker, who was thanked by the
president and presented with a
gift by Mrs, Alex Corrigan,'
Mrs. Bert Garniss gave the mot-
to; "Work makes the wheel go
round but fun greases the axle."
Mrs Garniss explained how the
pressures of life are relieved by
fun and recreation,
Mrs. Stanley Darling capably
demonstrated the • making of a
dining table bouquet to be "fresh
