WHITECHURCH—The young
people of the Presbyterian Church
held their meeting in the Sunday
School room of the church on Sun-
day evening, with Murray Gaunt,
president, presiding, Rev, R. T. A.
Marshall led in the Bible study per-
iod, reading from Philippians
5-11 and Johnston Conn led in
prayer. Lorne Forster gave a read-
ing, "Our Bost Friend". Miss Joan
Forster told the story of the hymn,
"Lord, gm Coming Home," and all
joined in singing the hymn.
Irma Forster had charge of the
topic, "Forgetting the Past, and
Looking, Forward to the Future".
Plans were made for next Sunday,
Bursary Sunday, when Kenneth,
Knight of 'Brussels, a student at
Waterloo College, will be the spec-
ial speaker, with the officers of
the Young -People's conducting the
service.
Plans were made to attend the
Service•in the Presbyterian Church,
Wingham', next Sunday evening,
when the young people of the dis-
trict will be present in a body; and
when the young student ministers,
Who have been assisting with set-
vices in this district will be present,
A social meeting will follow,

has been a patient in Wingham
Hospital suffering from pneu-
monia. Mr. and Mrs. Fleming John-
ston and family of Bluevale visited
on Sunday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Mason.
Arnold Powers, using Harold
Kerr's big bulldozer with the big
blade, opened up the river Side-
road from Highway 86, by work-
ing throughout the 'night from six
o'clock Friday evening. Mountain-
ous piles, of snow were in evidence,
but the mild weather on Sunday
soon made great patches of bare
ground on the road.
Robertson relatives in, E, Wawa-
nosh ,received word this week-end
'that their aunt, Mrs. John Menzies,
who has been at Mitchell for the
,past few months, bad a stroke on
Tht urSday,and broke her right hip,
She was taken to Stratford hospital, ,,t v' Mrs. Menzies is in her 88th year.

ation for the removal of a cataract
on her left eye on Tuesday. Mr.

World Day of Prayer meeting at
the home of Mrs, John L. Currie on.
Friday, Mrs, Norman Coultes pre-
sided and led in the responsive
readings, Mrs, John McGee was
pianist for the meeting. Mrs, Gil-
bert Beecroft, Mrs. Lawrence Tay-
lor, Mrs, Roy Pattison, Mrs. Harold
