In music class, the kindergarten class has started to learn Jingle Bells with the rhythm instruments including the bells, triangle, ciackers, and wood blocks. There were 17 cards of alphabet bingo played in the classroom this week with a multitude of winners. Welcome to a new student, Danielle De Long. GRADE THREE Miss Mathers' grade three's have learned the song Aiken Drum and have created some interesting versions of what they think this man, made from food, would look like. They have enjoyed hearing the story called The Littles. They were glad when Tom Little and the cat Hullett P.S. news became friends. In Math, they have learned to add numbers to 999 and have mastered regrouping. They are getting faster with number facts to 20 and enjoy playing the Travelling game. The students had a great time on “Puzzle Day” with their grade 5/6 buddies. GRADE FOUR/FIVE The grade four/fives had a hooting good time during the Owl Prowl game at the Wawanosh Nature Centre. Some of them discovered they were wise owls, some were mature owls and some were young owls. This was an exciting start to their studies of owls. They got their celebration of Christmas traditions off to a great start during Students keep busy FIRST TERM IN A NUTSHELL What's been happening at Hullett Central School this year so far? We finally are going to make time to give you the news and here it is. These are just a few of the many great activities that have and are taking place with the students and staff of Hullett Central School. GRADE FIVE/SIX Would you like to visit Careland, Cypiria, Pattie Island, East Min'ris, or Cook's Country? These countries and many, many more are on display in Room 10. They are imaginary countries created by the class and positioned on a map of the world. Each display shows the country's map, flag, and money. You may also read about its animals, plants, people, resources, and tourist attractions. Everyone is busy brushing up on multiplication facts as they move into multiplying by two and three digit numbers. Plans are taking shape for a contribution to the Christmas Concert. It is “top secret” so come out Dec. 15 to see what's planned. SPECIAL EVENTS This has been a very busy week with report cards going home, houseleague playoffs, and parent/teacher interviews.
