S ports Ironmen hammer Bulls 5-3 Home ice advantage continues to be a major disadvantage for the Brussels Bulls as they lost their fourth in a row, this time by a 5-3 score to the Wingham Ironmen. The win moves Wingham into second place, one point ahead of Brussels. Greg McNevan opened the scoring with 40 seconds left in the first period. Wingham tied the score before the period ended, then took the lead midway through second period action. The Bulls rebounded with goals by Alex Motley and Josh Alexander but a costly double minor penalty allowed Wingham to score twice in the dying seconds of the second period, then seal the win with a goal midway through the final period for a 5-3 score. The Algonquin first and second game stars went to Troy Fischer and Joe Walker of the Ironmen while the Bulls Nate Bender was named third star. The Bulls purchased the contract of Richard Bouman from the Goderich Sailors. Richard had three goals and 10 points in seven games with Goderich this season, and can play forward or defence. The home team overpowered the visitors, managing to not only shut them down, but score 14 goals against them. The Midgets are enjoying an excellent season thus far with a tournament "B" championship and no losses in regular season play. • Flyers • Carbonless Forms • Labels WE CAN DO IT ALL! Two wins for Brussels Midgets A COMPLETE PRINTING^ SERVICE Brussels Midgets continue to trounce the opposition in WOAA hockey action, taking a win both away and at home last week. On Nov. 24, the Midgets trav elled to Elma Logan where they swamped the home team, 11-5. Brussels wasted little time, show ing who was boss when Mike Bromley drove in the first goal at 8:22. Less than a minute later Bromley tagged on the second Brussels' goal off a play by Brett Clarkson. Then with 5:47 Bromley combined with Ryan Finch on a play to Tim Machan who scored goal number three. Elma-Logan managed one goal before the period ended narrowing the Brussels lead to two. The second period began with the same momentum as Bromley set up Clarkson for a Mark Robinson goal. The next goal of the period belonged to the home team, but it was quickly answered to when Bromley scored off a play by Finch. Less than two minutes later Robinson scored again, assisted by Clarkson and Wayne Alexander, however, it was Elma-Logan's turn for payback when they responded less than a minute later with their third goal of the game. With just 3:28 left on the clock, Brian VanSteelandt got into the action assisted by Bromley widening the Brussels' edge once again. Action in the third period was a little closer, but Brussels still man aged to increase their lead scoring four to Elma-Logan's two. While the home team scored the first goal, Alexander, then Brom ley, assisted by Randy Beuermann, Robinson off a play by Bromley and Finch assisted by Mike McNi- chol tagged on four more before Elma snuck in their final goal of the game. On Wednesday Brussels hosted Exeter, but showed no mercy over powering the visitors to a 14-0 win. BLYTH PRINTING INC BLYTH 523-9211 fco-oP^ SANNOUNCEMENT!
