Legion plans New Year’s dance

Wednesday, Nov. 25 are as

most lone hands, men, Gordon
Nichol and most zeros, Verna
Tunney and Kitty Rutledge. The
next euchre night is Wednesday,
Dec. 9.
Plans are underway for the
annual New Year's Eve pot luck
dance at the Brussels Legion Hall.
Cost is $5.00 per person. Contact
the branch or Murray's Barber shop
for tickets for further details.
Imaginary Friends
They may be called Imaginary Friends, but the singing troupe was real as real can be when
they performed at the Brussels Library Saturday to a group of fascinated youngsters. The
four-member group sings lively songs and encourages audience participation. The
performance was sponsored by Outreach Ontario of the Ministry of Culture and
Communication and Huron County Libraries.
PeeWees win, lose
Brussels WOAA Pee Wee Reps
hosted Elma Logan on Wednesday,
Nov. 25.
Elma Logan opened the scoring
early in the first period with one.
Andrew Exel assisted by Chad
McCallum and Corey Newman
evened the score with one for
Brussels.
In the second period Brussels
dominated the play scoring two
more goals. Adam Can- popped one
in assisted by Steve (Goob)
Machan. Late in the second Exel
scored his second goal assisted by
Machan.
The Brussels squad continued to
play hard in the third period but
were unable to find the net. Final
score was Stephen 3, Brussels 2.
The next home game will see
Brussels play Mitchell Dec. 4 at
8:45 p.m.
Rebekahs meet
The regular meeting of Morning
Star Rebekah Lodge, Brussels took
place on Nov. 24 with Noble Grand
Gertie Kellington presiding. There
was a good attendance which
included visitors from Seaforth.

FINAL TAX
INSTALLMENT DUE
The final tax installment for the Village of Brussels is due on
Friday, December 4.1992. Interest at 1 1/4% per month or any
part thereof will be charged after this due date.
Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve a taxpayer from
responsibility for payment of taxes, nor from penalty for late
payment

BRUSSELS RESIDENTS
ALL NIGHT STREET PARKING
Due to municipal snow removal operations, notice is
hereby given that the parking of cars on village streets
during the winter months (December 1 - April 1) Is strictly
prohibited.
All vehicles must be removed from village streets and
from roadways of the municipality between the hours of 2
a.m. and 7 a.m. Violators will be prosecuted or will be
required to bear the cost of having their vehicle towed
away.
The owner of any such parked vehicle will be liable for any
damage to the said vehicle or to snow plow equipment.

In the third period Brussels'
McCallum assisted by Scott
Clarkson completed the scoring.
The final tally at the end of three
periods was 4-1 for Brussels.
Brussels then travelled to Huron
Park to play Stephen Township on
Saturday, Nov. 28.
The Brussels squad suffered their
first loss of the season in an
exciting close game.
Exel, unassisted, started the
scoring halfway through the first.
With a minute left in the period
Stephen tied the score. Stephen
scored two more in the second
period to give them a 3-1 lead.
Corey Newman scored unassisted
to bring them within one.
It was reported that Annie
Thynne is a patient in Wingham
and District Hospital and Mary
Lowe is a patient in University
Hospital, London.
The Lodges of the District will
again sponsor the annual high
school student speak-off in March.
The winner of this event will
receive an all expense paid trip to
New York and the United Nations
next summer.
