The Citizen, 1992-06-03, Page 21Obituaries ROBERT EL WIN ARTHUR Robert Elwin Arthur of Auburn died on Friday, May 29, 1992 at Temiskaming, Quebec. He was 66. Mr. Arthur was bom on March 31, 1926 in Auburn, He was a son of the late John Arthur and Mar­ garet Youngblut. He was employed as a supervisor for the Huron Coun­ ty Roads Department. Mourning his loss most deeply is his wife the former Eunice Helmka. He was the beloved father of Jayne and Mike Foster of Windsor and stepfather of George and Shirley Wright of'Toronto, Margaret and John Boer of California and Jack and Pat Wright of London. Mr. Arthur will be lovingly rememberd by his brothers and sisters, Keith Arthur of Goderich, Harry Arthur of Auburn, Marjorie Wahl of Wingham and Ruth Davis of Union. He was the beloved grand­ father of Kathryn Wright Boa, Richelle Paesano, Christopher Wright, Jason, Jaylene and Janne Boer, David Wright, Wanda HPRCSSB ratifies agreement McArthur and Stacey Wright. He is survived as well by four great­ grandchildren. Mr. Arthur was pre­ deceased by his first wife, the former Irene Taylor in 1966 and a daughter Catherine Jane. Rev. Paul Ross officiated at the funeral service which was held on Monday, June 1 at Knox United Church, Auburn. Carrying floral tributes were David Wahl, David Wright, Jan Andrews and Kevin Whetstope. Honourary pallbearers were Gordon Dobie and Raymond Taylor. Carrying Mr. Arthur to his final resting place at Ball’s Ceme­ tery were Rich Baechler, Sandy Andrews, Gordon Lavis, Wayne Lowe, Bob Johnston and Bill Seers. MURIEL ALLEN Muriel Allen passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Wednesday, May 27, 1992 in her 81st year. Mrs. Allen was a resident of McCormick Home in London. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry B. Allen who died in 1972. She was the dear mother of Heather Tuninga and her husband Harp of London. She will be remembered by her son-in-law George Clarkson of St. Jean. She was a loving grand­ mother to Laura and Scott Clarkson of St. Jean, Allen and Mark Goth of London and Janice and her husband Francois Ramsay of New Delhi, India. She was the dear sister of Agnes Elliott of St. Catherines and sister-in-law of Blanche Elliott of Listowel. She is survived as well by many nieces and nephews. Her daughter Barbara, Clarkson, three sisters and one brother predeceased her. Funeral services were held at 1:30 on Saturday, May 30 at Betts Funeral Home, Brussels, with Rev. Carolyn McAvoy officiating.. A Morning Star Rebekah Lodge memorial service was held on the previous evening. Pallbearers were Allen, Mark and Fred Goth, Scott Clarkson, Harp Tuninga and Harvey Elliott. Interment was at Wroxeter Cemetery. WESLEY YEO Wesley Yeo passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 1992 at Wingham and District Hospital in his 86th year. A resident of Blyth, Mr. Yeo is survived by his sisters-in-law Gladys Yeo of Wingham and Cora Yeo of Southampton, two nieces and one nephew. Visitation was at the McBumcy Funeral Home in Wingham on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Complete funeral services were held on Fri­ day at 1 p.m. with Rev. J. Rea Grant officiating. Interment was at Wingham Cemetery. Donations to the Wingham and District Hospital would be appreci­ ated as expressions of sympathy. CHARLES HENRY BLAKE Charles Henry Blake passed away on Saturday, May 23, 1992 in Kingston. He was bom January 21, 1912 in London, England, son of William and Elizabeth Blake. Mr. Blake was the loving brother of William of Walton, John of Blyth, Joe of England, Ellen of Florida, and Dorothy of England. He was predeceased by his sister Ada. The funeral service was held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Central Chapel in Kingston. The service was given by Rev. John Young. Interment was at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. The board ratified the September 1, 1991 to August 31, 1993 occa­ sional teacher/board collective agreement. Louise Martin, Trustee, read a Press Release announcing the ratifi­ cation of the Occasional Teacher contract. The board also ratified the 1992- 93 tentative collective agreement with the elementary teachers. Trustee Louise Martin stressed that it was the elementary teachers who had brought the offer to the Board. She praised them for then- display of leadership during this time of restraint which has resulted in an agreement with an unprece­ dented zero per cent salary increase in return for a guarantee of job security. The Board gave Louise Martin and her committee a round of applause in appreciation for their efforts in ratifying these contracts.♦♦♦ The resignation of Michel Dupuis as a teacher was accepted effective as of August 31. The following teachers were given approval regarding contract changes. Contracts reductions, effective September 1, were given to Dawne Boersen and Bernice Bishop at their requests. Contract increases, effective September 1, were given to Cathy Drennan, Jacqueline Simpson, Mary Brown, and Tina Doherty.**« Ginette Ouellet was given a par­ tial leave of absence from her full- time teaching duties for the academic year 1992-93. Group to study youth addiction continued from page 1 Mr. Tousaw said after the meet­ ing that the group was really encouraged by this as it doesn't have the resources or knowledge to pursue it on its own.
