Paul Ross conducted the morning service at Knox United Church with Bernice Gross as organist. Rev. Ross gave the Call to. Worship and Prayers. The hymn “Fairest Lord Jesus” was sung. Rev. Ross told the children's story and everyone repeated The Lord's Prayer. “Jesus Loves the Little Children” was sung. The offering was received by Brian Gross and Ian Andrews and for the Sunday School brought forward by Kevin Millian and Don Noble and dedicated. “Crown Him With Many Crowns” was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced the Benediction and the response “To God The Father” concluded the service. Jolly jumpers On May 5, Grey Central Public School participated in Jump Rope For Heart to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation . The top three fundraisers were, left to right: Stephenie Alward of grade eight, Melissa Grisdale of grade two, and Lisa Schnock of grade one.The Huron County Campaign Chair for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Floyd Herman is seen presenting the school's campaign organizer, Suzanne Rose, with a Certificate of Merit for the $2740.18 raised. AuburnThe news from Compiled by Mildred Lawlor Phone 526-7589 Former members are guests at 'Walkerburn Club meeting The Walkerburn Club met at Martha Daer's home with excellent attendance. Everyone was surprised and delighted that former members Marion Schneider, Mildmay and and Dorothy Schneider, Auburn were guests. Ethel Ball, the President opened the meeting with a lovely poem, “A Special Gift For You” followed by prayer. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read by the Secretary Kay Lapp. Treasurer Ruth McClinchey gave the treasurer's report which showed $50 in the bank and $7.50 on hand. The draw was then taken and Martha was the lucky winner of a lovely cushion made and given to her by Betsey Verwey. The June meeting will be on June 23 at Debbie Collins. Debbie and Brenda Huizinga will be in charge of lunch and Christina Gross and Kay will be the program commit­ tee. Grace was sung as everyone gathered around a long dining table. A lovely lunch was served by Bemice Norman and the hostess. A delightful half hour was spent reminiscing back through the years with the special guests. People Mr. and Mrs. B. Williams, Mrs. Heather Thacker and Mrs. Coreen Thacker, all of Bow Island, Alberta visited last week with Mrs. Frances Clark. Sympathy is extended to Eunice Arthur and family on the death of her husband Bob who passed away Friday, May 29 in his 67 year. Mrs. Yvonne Buote of Victoria, B.C. visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bean from May 11 to 21. She made friends with her nephews Michael, Brett and Tony, sons of Dana and Joyce Bean, and their new arrival Danielle, born May 18. There will be a shower for Nancy Penfound at the Auburn Hall on June 11 at 8 p.m. Flower photography is topic at meeting The Auburn Horticultural Society meeting will meet at the Community Hall on Wednesday, June 10. Ross gave the Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession.
