Selling their wares
The St. John’s Anglican Church in Brussels held its garage sale last Saturday. Pictured here
are, left to right, Christa Smith, Jennifer Acton, Joshua Acton, all of Brussels, trying to sell
their lemonade, Freezies, and cupcakes. Unfortunately, business was a little slow because of
the cold weather.

People
Travelling with “Travel
Venturers” of Kitchener on
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
of last week, Erma Brighton, Leola
Hood and Mildred Jacklin were
thoroughly delighted with their
mystery tour.
After boarding the brand new
coach at Towers Plaza in Waterloo
at 6:45 a.m. and picking up
passengers in Cambridge and
Brantford, then stopping at the
duty-free store in Fort Erie, a buffet
dinner was enjoyed at The Yorks
Restaurant in Erie Pa.
Then it was on to the Sheridan
Suites Hotel at Cuyahoga Falls in
Ohio.
On Tuesday, it was a 250 mile
circle route of many interesting
attractions including an Amish
Mennonite Farm area reflecting
very prosperous countryside where
a few of the attractions visited were
“Alpine Alpa”, Switzerland over
here. The biggest Glocenspiel
Cuckoo Clock in the world is
featured here and the grounds and
buildings are fashioned in the
Stowe Vermont “Von Troppe”
lodge style. One of the cheese
houses en roue featured over 250
different varieties of cheese.
They toured the Warther
Museum at Dover, Ohio and
viewed the wood carvings of “The
World's Master Carver”, Ernest
Warther, who, while he was living,
carved out many replicas of the
trains of his day which he made out
of walnut, black ebony woods and
ivory. His models are all working
in his family museum and never
need oiling.
The dinner theatre at Canton
featured a Filipino girl with a
superb voice who sang and
yodeled. There was shopping time
in two large malls on the way
home, returning via Niagara Falls
on Wednesday night.
