Craig led the service and Murray
Dennis read the scripture lessons.
The choir was made up of the
men of the congregation and sang
an anthem with Margery Huether at
the organ. Margery also sang a
solo, “A Closer Walk with Thee”.
JoAnn McDonald told the chil
dren's story before they retired to
the basement to their classes. Offer
ing was received by Lavem Godkin
and Brian Wilbee.
Man gets 29 cribbage hand
Graeme gave an inspiring mes
sage on Love regarding the scrip
tures that were read. As Valentine's
time approaches we can show our
way of love. He closed with the
words, “The way you'll be remem
bered is entirely up to you.” He
contributed his message and led the
service at Bluevale United church
prior to Walton service. Next Sun
day Kevin Stewart of C.K.N.X.,
Wingham will be in charge of the
service.
The morning service prelude of
music was enjoyed by the congre
gation consisting of Margery
Huether pianist, Phyllis Mitchell
violinist and organist, Glenda
Carter.
Flowers in the sanctuary were
placed in memory of Elva Bolger
by her family. Sympathy of the
community is extended to the fami
lies of Shirley, Jean and Larry.
U.C.W. members are reminded
of the Valentine pot luck luncheon
and meeting to be held this
Wednesday. Junior choir practice
will be this Thursday, Feb. 13 at
4:15 p.m.

Last Wednesday a phone call was
received from Karl MacNaughton
of the Walton Inn who reported he
had just got a 29 hand in cribbage.
He seemed quite excited as it was
the highest hand he had ever got in
the game.
His partner that afternoon was
Ross Kemp of Molesworth who

ton congregation was held Sunday
following a delicious pot luck

annual.
All reports were reviewed from
the annual report and directory. In

resigning as Recording Steward of
the Board, a position taken over by
JoAnne McDonald. Graeme Craig
retired from the position of Clerk of
Session. Viola Kirkby is chairing
the board meetings until a new
minister arrives.
This has been a year that has
presented many changes for the
congregation, but let us work
together to keep our church a
strong central gathering point for
our rural community.

Philip and Dianne Blake of
Waterloo visited on the weekend at
the home of Doug and Marjory
Fraser.
It is good to hear Jack Mitchell
returned home from hospital a
week ago Saturday after several
weeks in hospitals with a broken
hip. Emerson has finally got his
cast off his arm after his break. We
wish them both a quick recovery
with no more misfortunes. Their
sister Lillian Beer had a car acci
dent Saturday morning, but she
escaped injury.
