Peter Tucker conducted the Knox United Church, Belgrave annual meeting on Sunday, January 26 following lunch after the morn­ ing worship service. Lome Campbell, the treasurer, presented the financial statement which showed a successful year. The Missionary and Service assess­ ment asked by Presbytery was accepted for next year. The next members elected to the Session are Mrs. Joyce Vincent and George Michie. The new members elected to the Board of Stewards are Bill Coultes, Cameron Yuill and John McIntosh. Lewis Stone­ house was re-appointed as trustee. Mrs. Sylvia Procter is the new representative on the Christian Education Committee. Mrs. Ruth Gordon, Sunday School Superintendent still needs more volunteer teachers. Mike Cot­ trill is replacing George Procter as assistant Sunday School Superin­ tendent. John Nixon and Arnold Spivey were added as ushers and offering stewards. Ross Anderson, Murray Scott and Mrs. Muriel Coultes were re-elected for one year to the Ministry and Personnel Committee. A Country Fayre will be held June 14. The every-family Observer plan will continue. Mrs. Elizabeth Proctor and Mike Cottrill were re-appointed auditors. Murray Scott, on behalf of the congregation expressed apprecia­ tion to Rev. Peter and Nancy Tuck­ er for their leadership and look forward to another year. The next annual meeting will be held January 31, 1993. Rev. Peter Tucker closed the meeting with prayer. Campbell celebrates birthday Mr. and Mrs. Allan Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Clare Van Camp, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Cloakey and fami­ ly, Mrs. Freda Scott and Mrs. Mar­ garet Taylor visited with Mrs. Olive Campbell and Mrs. Ivy Cloakey on Sunday prior to Mrs. Campbell's birthday. Many members of Mrs. Camp­ bell's family came and brought food for a dinner on Monday, Jan­ uary 20 in honour of Mrs. Camp­ bell's birthday including John and Linda Campbell and family, Clare and Gladys Van Camp, Mrs. Bruce Campbell and boys, Lome and Lil­ lian Campbell and Nancy and Harold Jardin. Other visitors during the week were Miss Mary Isabel Nethery and Mrs. John Roberts and Rev. Peter D. Tucker. Mrs. Winnie Campbell of Luc­ know visited with her sister-in-law Mrs. Olive Campbell on Wednes­ day afternoon. A lengthy discussion took place among the congregation regarding non-active members on our church roll. A social hour was enjoyed by all. Chad was a member of the Belgrave Horse Club. ATTENTION Farmers & Homeowners CURB Program Grants Available The CURB Program (Clean Up Rural Beaches) is offering financial assistance to farmers and homeowners for specified projects to improve water quality in rivers and streams. Grants are available for the repair or rebuilding of private septic systems, construction of manure storages, milkhouse waste water disposal systems, and to fence livestock from watercourses.
