are not allowed in the park, the
Kings said many are crossing
through their front yard. Their con
cern, they told council is the ques
tion of liability should someone be
injured on their property. They told
council that one machine had run
into a car parked in their driveway
one night
Mrs. King had, she said, written
down the number of two frequent
offenders, both of whom are under
age drivers. Also, she said that
though the number of snowmobil
ers crossing through the park has
lessened there are still a few using
the back end of the park.
Reeve Dave Lee assured the
Kings that the law regarding snow
mobilers is covered in the Highway
Traffic Act and it is illegal to drive
a licensed vehicle underage.
Councillor Sparling added that
any snowmobilers using someone's
property as a thoroughfare are tres
passing and thereby breaking the
law. Should they be injured, the
property owner would not be liable.
Reeve Lee stressed the fact that it
is only a few snowmobilers in town
causing problems and it was sug
gested that if they continue to be a
nuisance property owners should
call the police.
