Blyth scored two goals late in the second period to get back into the game but couldn't get any closer. Ryan Chamney scored a power play goal as he swatted the puck out of the air with assists to Tim Cowan arid Pee Wee call-up Chris Stewart. One minute later, Chris topher Howson deposited the rebound of Jerrod Button's shot to cut the lead to 4-2 but that was as close as they could come. After Normanby scored for a 1-0 second period lead, Blyth tied the game with five minutes left in the game. Michael de Jong set up Henry Bos at the blueline. Bos's shot went wide but Tim Lyons picked up the rebound off the end boards and snapped a low shot past the goalie. The game looked like it was headed for a tie but Normanby had other plans as they notched the winner with 42 seconds remaining, then added an empty net goal with seven seconds left in the game. Blyth completed the tourney on December 29, this time losing 5-3 to Zurich. Zurich built a 3-0 lead before Blyth scored the only two second period goals to cut the lead to 3-2.
