School Bd. seeks aid from Crime Stoppers The Huron - Perth Roman Catholic Separate School Board voted at its meeting of November 4, to hire a temporary custodian for St. James School in Seaforth. The matter will be dealt with by the Personnel Committee. The board Chairperson, Chair­ person of the Education Committee and John McCauley, Superinten­ dent of Education, will attend the Ministry of Education Provincial Symposium, regarding Restructur­ ing of Education on December 16 and 17. A letter will be sent to the Clin­ ton Police asking for increased police patrols in the area of St. Joseph's School in Clinton. Also a letter will be written to the OPP to request their assistance from Crime Stoppers, regarding the continuing vandalism at the school. The Education Committee report­ ed on its visit to the combined Kindergarten program at St. Aloy- sius School. Members were very impressed by the quality of the pro­ gram. A letter will be sent to Cory DeWys and Gail Dugan, who have indicated their intent to resign from the Special Education Advisory Committee. The letter will express the board's heartfelt thanks in recognition of their efforts during eight years of service. The board will request the pas­ tors to place a notice in parish bul­ letins inviting people to submit names for inclusion on the Profes­ sional Activity Committee (Huron County), Stratford Library Com­ mittee and Special Education Advi­ sory Committee. PTA votes in new bd. members The annual Parent-Teacher Asso­ ciation Banquet and General meet­ ing of the Clinton and District Christian School was held on November 8. The president welcomed 103 guests, read I Corinthians 13: 1-13 and opened with a word of prayer. The group then ate a delicious Swedish dinner put on by the din­ ner committee of the P.T.A. The gym was also decorated in blue and yellow colours of the Swedish flag. After dinner Jennifer Slotegraaf sang two songs with piano accom­ panied by Karen Dykstra. A short business meeting was held. The minutes from last year's meeting were read. Activities held throughout the year were reported on, along with the treasurer's report. The new board members were voted in for the next three year term. Skits were performed by the Clinton Young People's Society and members of the Clinton Chris­ tian Reformed Church. The presi­ dent thanked everyone in the skits for their excellent work. Ralph Schuurman closed the meeting with prayer.
