Stefan Nichol
Over the past three weeks grades
kindergarten to grade eight have
paid visits to the Public Library
here in town. We asked the super
visor of the Public Library, Mrs.
Nichol, how she felt about the
classes that visited her. She said
she enjoyed the visits and hopes
that the students did too.
As you may know, the grade
eight class held a class election.
The candidates for the position of
girl class president are, Kim Mul
vey and Stacy Hahn. Running for
boy class president are Mike
Dauphin and Mike Seeds. The posi -
tion of special convenor has three
candidates: Wendy Thompson,
Brent Pepper, and Chris Burk
holder. The final position of secre
tary is challenged by Becky David
son and Teresa Bridge. During the
been decorated with posters and

The campaign speeches were held
on the morning of October 28 and
the elections were held in the after
noon. The winners are: for girl
president, Stacy Hahn and for boy
president, Mike Dauphin. The
secretary is Becky Davidson and
special convenor is Wendy Thomp
son.
For noon hour sports the soccer
season just ended. The boys’ soccer
champions are the Hurricanes. For
the girls, the champs are the Fury.
Arm bands will be given to the
members of both teams. Coming up
in noon hour sports is volleyball.
Junior games will begin at 12:15
and Intermediate from 12:35 to
12:55.
The grade six/seven students held
a fundraising event. Mr. Prior,
Janice Jacklin and Josh Beuermann
were asked by members of the
grade eight class for what reason
the fundraiser was held. Here are
their answers: They held the
fundraiser to help the Children's
Christmas Fund and for field trips.
They made a total of $1500.
The grade six/seven class got
their supplies from Sunsweet, a
company outside of Toronto. They
sold chocolates and paper products.
If you want to see what they sold,
the products are in the school
showcase window. Grade eight
begins their annual cheese sales on
the fourth of November. The profits
from this will help pay the cost of
the grade eight's trip to see “Phan
tom of the Opera” in Toronto.
