The October meeting of the Cheerio Club was held on Wednes­ day afternoon, October 9 at the home of Alidia Westerhout at 2 p.m. Beth Knox welcomed everyone and opened the meeting with a Women attend graduation Addie Hunking and Marjorie Duizer attended the Ontario Agri­ cultural College Graduate Awards on Thursday, October 10 at Guelph when granddaughter and daughter Miss Lisa Duizer received one of the Soden Fellowships in Agricul­ ture. Mrs. Margaret Good and Carl and Kay Longman of Blyth attend­ ed an Open House for a 50th anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gropp of Milverton at the Legion Hall on Sunday afternoon. Thanksgiving poem. There were 11 members and one visitor present. Minutes of the August meeting were read. The financial report, collection and draw money were taken up. A draw donated by June Fothergill was won by Ora Bruce. Edylhc Beacom gave some read­ ings: “In Hazy Blue October”, “For all of This”, “Once a Year Visitors” and “A Mortifying Mistake”.
