farmers
for taking part
in survey
The Maitland Valley Conserva
tion Authority (MVCA) would like
to thank the farmers who took the
time to participate in the Agricul
tural Land Management Survey this
past summer. Staff at the MVCA
interviewed a total of 360 farmers
about the various practices in use
on their farms.
The information collected will
enable the Conservation Authority
to evaluate the success of its cur
rent soil and water conservation
extension service, and assist in the
design of future activities that will
be of greatest benefit to the farmer.
The information from the survey
will also be used to develop a data
base so that general trends in land
management practices can be stud
ied.
Finally, the information in the
survey will help the MVCA design
educational materials to promote
soil, and wetland conservation.
