PAGE 15 Photo story The squeeze play This game went over with a bang, as Blyth Optimists planned some activities to entertain the young people who attended the Pioneer Thresher Reunion on Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere of the Thresher Reunion is reminiscent of a less hectic age as this crowd shows while waiting for the steam engine to get ready to power the sawmill. Rather than lose patience the group took the time to visit and enjoy a friendly chat with old and new aquaintances. Tough toss This young competitor winds up for the bale-toss, one of the many events for kids at the Thresher Reunion this year. The events were sponsored by the Blyth Optimist Club. by Bonnie Gropp Putting the teeth into it Special events coordinator Ray Hallahan helps to keep the log steady for these two log­ sawing competitors at the Thresher Reunion on Saturday. The man on the right is Mr. Hallahan's son, Dwight. Sawing things People stopped to watch when they passed by this fellow who was using a shingle saw at the Pioneer Thresher Reunion in Blyth this past weekend. These Grade 5 students from East Wawanosh Public School take a closer look at this steam engine when the area elementary schools visited the Huron County Pioneer Thresher Reunion in Blyth on Friday.
