The squeeze play
This game went over with a bang, as Blyth Optimists
planned some activities to entertain the young people who
attended the Pioneer Thresher Reunion on Saturday
afternoon.
The atmosphere of the Thresher Reunion is reminiscent of a less hectic age as this crowd
shows while waiting for the steam engine to get ready to power the sawmill. Rather than lose
patience the group took the time to visit and enjoy a friendly chat with old and new
aquaintances.
Tough toss
This young competitor winds up for the bale-toss, one of
the many events for kids at the Thresher Reunion this
year. The events were sponsored by the Blyth Optimist
Club.

Putting the teeth into it
Special events coordinator Ray Hallahan helps to keep the log steady for these two log
sawing competitors at the Thresher Reunion on Saturday. The man on the right is Mr.
Hallahan's son, Dwight.
Sawing things
People stopped to watch when they passed by this fellow who was using a shingle saw at the
Pioneer Thresher Reunion in Blyth this past weekend.
These Grade 5 students from East Wawanosh Public
School take a closer look at this steam engine when the
area elementary schools visited the Huron County Pioneer
Thresher Reunion in Blyth on Friday.
