With the Thresher Reunion in town, it was a good day for shoppers as Blyth Soccer League held its fund-raising Garage Sale at Dickson's Garage on Saturday afternoon. Ramirez opened the service with the call to worship. The hymn “Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus” was sung. The scripture reading was from Mark 7, verses 31-37 and Rutabaga Festival Committee meets tonight to plan ahead The Blyth Rutabaga Festival committee is looking ahead and gearing up with plans for next year's big event. Chairperson for the 1991 Festi­ val, Judy Brown says that in order to keep things moving forward, the 4H Club the hymn “O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing” was sung. The children's story was about being deaf and mute and we want to be thankful when we can hear and talk. The children's time con­ cluded with singing “Jesus Loves the Little Children”. Walton Public School attendance has jumped from 86 in June to 91 when school began September 3. Due to a large graduating class and a small enrolling Kindergarten class, the attendance at East Wawanosh Public School is down from 230 in June to 219. In September of 1990 there were 236 students at East Wawanosh. Attendance is also down at Hul- lett Central Public School as a result of boundary changes, though the number is higher than originally anticipated. At the end of the school year there were 234 students enrolled, while 226 started classes this September.
