Twelve provincial ministers were on hand throughout the three-day confer ence to discuss various issues criti cal to municipal operation and budgets. Mrs. Armstrong said that overall she found the information at the conference to be very worthwhile and educational. "My only disap pointment was that there were so many interesting topics scheduled at the same time, so I could only attend one," she said. Topics such as municipal economic develop ment in a recession and waste reduction and general welfare assis tance provided the delegates with some thought-provoking informa tion. In addition to electing a new AMO board of directors and presi dent for the coming year, delegates debated and voted on more than 100 resolution. Those resolutions endorsed by the conference will be forwarded to federal and provincial officials for action. While many delegates took advantage of the broad range of practical workshops available, oth ers spent long hours conferring with their counterparts from across the province.
