Music students pass exams Registration for Blyth Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers is Wednesday, September 11, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Blyth Public School Gym. A parent or guardian must attend registration. Anyone with questions can phone Joan Clark, 523-9659. New members welcome to all age levels. Beavers is for boys aged 5, 6 and 7 (kindergarten, grade 1 and 2). They meet Tuesday nights 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Beaver activities include games, handicrafts, stories, and special outdoor events such as Winterfest and Bcaveree. The major character influence is shar­ ing. Beavers leant to share through co-operation and team effort in their fun, work, play and feelings towards others. Cubs is for boys aged 8, 9 and 10 (approx, grade 3, 4, 5). The Pack meets 7:30 - 9 p.m. Tuesday nights at Blyth Public School. Boys leant to work and play with others in During the month of August, 1991, there have been five reported thefts or attempted thefts from vehicles in Goderich. At McGee's used car lot on August 5, 1991, three 17-18 year old youths were seen on the lot and they fled when observed and on checking it was determined that they had removed four chrome rims off a 1985 GMC Wrangler pickup truck. A car stereo was removed from a camper truck parked at the Evans car lot on Kingston Street some lime after August 3, 1991, and four wheel-rings were stolen as well. The thief(s) entered the truck by going in to the camper section, then broke the rear window to the truck cab. A wheel disc from a 1988 GMC pickup was stolen from the McGee Motors car lot on August 7 between midnight and 2:00 p.m. the same day. The pickup had only been on the lot for a couple of days and the thief(s) removed 18 screws to effect the theft. There is personal development through a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, achievement, badges, hiking, and usually several camp­ ing weekends. Venturers is for boys aged 14 - 17, (approx, grade 9 to 12). Ventur­ ers meet about twice a mon’h. Ven­ turers have a committee type organization, electing officers. Remember crime doesn't pay, Crime Stoppers does. Swine Club tours pig bam BY JAMIE THOMAS On August 13 the Central Huron 4-H Swine Club held their fourth meeting at John Hussel's farm. When everybody got there members went on a tour of Mr. Hussel's pig bam and he showed how he made his own feed. Two nutritionists from Kenpal Farm Products talked about requirements for healthy pigs. President Amy Thomas adjourned the meeting and refreshments were served. The next meeting will be at Amy and Jamie Thomas' on September 9 at 7:45 p.m. feed RADFORD Fuels Ltd BLYTH, ONT. Jim Walsh and his son, Don, of Goderich arc spending a week's vacation in Timmins. John and Vera Hesselwood returned Aug. 21 from a very inter­ esting tour of Churchill and Win­ nipeg, Manitoba. In Churchill they toured the tundra by plane and tun­ dra buggy and bus and saw several polar bears, elk, swans and geese. Also on a boat tour they saw schools of beluga whales.
