Radio Shack
slashing
prices
One Canadian firm has struck
back at cross-border shopping by
slashing prices of its products in
Canada.
Radio Shack Canada, based in
Barrie with franchised stores across
Canada including Brussels, has cut
costs on its computers and 400
other products. For example, the
Tandy 4020SX computer can now
be bought in Canada for $1,399
compared to $1,799 (U.S.) in the
United Stales.
"We simply can't demand that
Canadians shop in Canada because
it supports the high quality of life
we all enjoy," said Robert Mays,
managing director of Radio Shack
Canada. "We have to strive for
excellence and challenge the com
petition to put Canadian consumers
in a win-win situation."
