Lynne Armstrong is an avid ball fan, so when she won a recent Procter and Gamble/ Big V contest it couldn't have been more appro priate. Last Saturday, Lynne and her husband Murray, travelled to Sky- Dome and with the close to 150 other contest winners, saw the Jays and the Kansas City Royals in action. The game was enjoyed from window seats at the Dome restau rant, while the guests enjoyed a non-stop smorgasbord meal. After the game, there was a tour of the facility, then the group went to the Argos dressing room where they suited up and Lynne and the rest of the group actually played ball al SkyDome for about four hours. Lynne said it was a terrific time and quite an experience. on Monday, July 1. Mr. Cardiff sent posters, flags and maple leaf pins which were used as prizes for winners of the flag drawing contest and the "Quiz Canada" questions. Every child in the school had an opportunity to participate in "Cana da is...", by making posters or researching information on Canada. The assembly format included an introduction to Canada and facts about the country. Children who had made the Provincial Coat of Arms had looked up information in their province and told the others about it. The class sang "This Land is Your Land" and closed the assem bly with "O Canada". Everyone present joined together to sing "Happy Birthday Canada" as the giant birthday cake with maple leaf flags planted on it was brought out. The cake and the flags were made by the children.
