FunFest filled with plenty of memories
Ducks in a row
The population of ducks on the Maitland River was boosted Sunday at the annual duck race
sponsored by the Brussels Lions Club. Winner of the contest was Jim Snider, R.R.1, Listowel.
Don’t look back
Rear-view mirrors might have shown a scary view for this
entry in the FunFest parade. The truck following seemed to
have considerably more horsepower than the wagon.
Breakfast is served
Jack Overholt of the Brussels Fire Department serves breakfast Sunday morning while
Murray McArter gets more eggs. Firemen held breakfast both Saturday and Sunday
mornings.

Best dressed
There was no doubt the best dressed canoe racer at
Sunday's water events was Jerry Bremner who came
complete with tux. Hopefully it was wash and wear
because later he took the plunge when his canoe was

Members of the Brussels Legion Pipe Band, along with a large number of good sports,
participated in the FunFest pyjama parade on Sunday night. The group met at the ball parK
before marching south on Turnberry, then east to the arena in time for the Family Dance. It
was a perfect ending to an entertaining and eventful weekend.
racing?
The three-legged race became a little more physical than
necessary for this group of boys Saturday afternoon. The
leaders had a handicap when the second place team
tackled them.
