The Citizen, 1991-07-03, Page 2PAGE 2. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY. JULY 3, 1991. Church welcomes new pastor Sunday, June 20 was a busy day at Brussels Mennonite Church. Breakfast was served before the morning Church service. Bev Brown was worship leader and Willard Metzger from Floradale Mennonite Church gave the mes sage "Defining the Church" based on 1 Thessalonians 1: 1-3. The Demarays, the Horsts and the Lichtys provided several musical numbers. In place of the regular Sunday School classes the adults joined together in the chapel for work shops and group discussions, while the children met in the gymnasium to watch a program by the Blylh Christian Puppeteers. After a finger food lunch the workshops continued for the adults and the children were further enter tained by the Puppeteers and then they enjoyed an afternoon of swim ming at the Brussels pool. The day ended with a B.B.Q. supper at Martin's recreation area for the entire Church Family. This Sunday was the last that Pastdr Gordon Bauman and Mrs. Bauman will be with the Brussels congregation in an official capacity as interim pastor. During the week a pot luck welcome supper will be held for the Warner family. Pastor Tom Warner, his wife Andrea, and their five children will be moving to the Brussels area from the Port Rowan district. Tom will com mence his duties as Pastor of Brus sels Mennonite Fellowship later this summer. Correction Last week in The Citizen, the report on Marg Sweeney and Marge Ritchie's birthday Open House stated the event was held on June 16. The correct date was June 15.
