Wawanosh issues building permits The council of East Wawanosh expressed a concern over the issue of fencing around private outdoor swimming pools at its meeting on June 3. It was decided that a notice would be put in lhe newspaper, stating that all swimming pools must be fenced or enclosed accord­ ing to the township by-law. Copies of the by-law are available at the township office. Building permits were issued to: Brian Walden, Part Lot 36, Cone. 3, for a swimming pool; Gary Pietrek, Part Lot, Cone. 13, for an addition to a residence; Audrey and Bill Fenton, Part Lot 31, Cone. 4, for a storage shed and David Gol- ley (Glen), Part Lot 42, Cone. 11, subject to MTO approval. Approval was given to Belgrave Kinsmen to manage and conduct a raffle lottery from the arena for the sale of the 1992 calendars. Council approved lhe updating of Hullett accepts tenders Hullelt council accepted lhe ten­ der of Dennis Wilhelm in the amount of $13,091.45 for the repair and improvement project of the Sturdy Drainage works, at the June 4 meeting of council. The lender of Lavis Contracting in the amount of $55,680.45 for paving the street in Auburn was accepted. This project is under the PRIDE program. A tender of $18,869.45, from R.J. Maloney for the repair of the Walkerburn Bridge deck was accepted. A by-law was passed imposing a special annual drainage rate upon land where money is borrowed under the Tile Drainage Act in lhe amount of $23,200. Council supported a request to have a natural gas utility brought to the area. A by-law was passed authorizing the establishing of an agreement with the Clinton Fire Area. The accounts in the amount of $120,383.57 were approved for payment. (S)training session Thirty-one youngsters and 10 parents toiled in the hot sun Saturday in a fundraising event for a new soccer field in Blyth. The young soccer players spent six and a half hours picking stones on the farm of Larry Johnston south of Auburn. They raised $300 toward the cost of a soccer field for Blyth. Teams included are from Lucknow, Goderich A and B and Blyth. They will play a six game schedule beginning on June 10 with Blyth hosting Lucknow in Belgrave.
