The Citizen, 1991-06-05, Page 20PAGE 20. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5,1991. GRIETJE NONKES Grietje Nonkes of Queen Street, Blyth died suddenly on May 25, 1991 at Clinton Public Hospital. She was 68. The former Grietje Volders was born in Sellingen, Holland on December 14, 1922. She was pre­ deceased by her parents Jan Vold­ ers and the former Evertje Hoiting. Her husband John, died in 1990. Mrs. Nonkes will be mourned by her family, William and Alice Nonkes of Brampton, Jack and Sylvia Nonkes of RR1, Auburn, Eric and Giena Nonkes of RR1, Auburn, Emelien and Michael Zandwyk of RR2, Zurich and Gary and Dianne Nonkes of RR1, Auburn. She was the dear sister of Albert, Jan Evert Volders, and Bouwentje Buurma all of Holland and Roelf of Australia. She will be remembered by her brother-in-law Bertus Neems of Holland and her aunt Albertje Konigcrs of Chatham. Mrs. Nonkes was the loving Oma of Sandra, Carolyn, Julia and Kath­ leen Nonkes; Mark, Peter, Aron and Angela Nonkes; Daniel, Dean­ na, Derek and Laura Zandwyk and Bethanie and Avaleigh Nonkes. Visitation was held at the Tasker Chapel of the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home in Blyth. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church. Rev. John Hanegraaf officiated. Pall­ bearers were John Benjamins, Abraham Vanerveen, Ralph Lub­ bers, Frank Reinink, Anton Pass- chier and Peter Vandam. A graveside service followed al Blyth Union Cemetery. "MIKE” MASON George Aylmer (Mike) Mason of Rainy River, formerly of Blyth, died in Winnipeg's Health Science Centre on Wednesday, May 29, 1991. He was 66. Mr. Mason was bom in Blyth, on May 18, 1925. His parents were Ethel (Clow) and Walter Mason. He is survived by his wife, Pat. Also surviving him is Eleanor Mason of Brussels, and their chil­ dren Archie and Faith, Holmesville; Walter, Brussels; Betty and Doug Currie, Brampton; Laverne and David Jamieson, Brus- seis; Georgina and Paul Cloakey, Kincardine; Charles and Sheri, Brussels; Tammy and Robert Wiser, Brussels; Marylou and George Befurt, Kitchener; and Perry, Brussels. As well, he is survived by Win­ nie Mason and their sons Michael and Joseph, all of Clinton. Mr. Mason is also survived by 18 grandchildren, as well as his broth­ ers, James and Gordon of Blyth; his twin brother Albert (Pat) of Lon- desboro; sister Kathleen Buchanan of Clinton and Mae Cowie of Lon­ don. He was predeceased by his par­ ents and one brother, Archie. Mr. Mason was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Funer­ al services will be held on Thurs­ day, June 6 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Marys, Ont. Anglican minister, Rev. Noel Paterson will officiate. Interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery.
