Phone 887-6677 WI enjoys car tour It was a great day for the car tour on Monday, May 27, the weather was perfect when 11 members of the Walton Women's Institute took in the tour with drivers Margery Huether and Leona McDonald. Before leav ing at 9 a.m. everyone met at the Walton Public School. The school children and teachers were also present to take part in the dedication when the Walton W.I. planted a Norway Maple. Margaret Mclnroy with the help of brother Bill had planted the tree quite early that morning. Two trees had also been planted at the ball park. This year the Federated Women of the World Theme is for all branches to plant a tree. It was a lovely drive (everything is so green at this time of year) to the hamlet of Shakespeare where members were given the opportuni ty of looking through the many gift shops with several varied antiques. Unfortunately the tea room is not open on a Monday until June. They were told in one of the stores there was a good restaurant al Tavistock just a short distance west. They arrived at the Quehl's Restaurant on the main street. The service was good and the food was delicious. Margaret conducted some business. Back in the car, members headed for Stratford stopping at Sobey's a huge grocery store where everyone enjoyed doing some shopping. Before leaving Stratford the drivers took the scenic drive along the Avon River and by the Theatre. Thanks goes to Margery for plan ning the tour for an Institute meet ing and the drivers for making it an interesting day. 4.
