The Citizen, 1991-05-15, Page 33Obituaries WILMA N. RADFORD Wilma Radford died on May 6. 1991 at her residence on Dinsley Street in Blyth. She was 66. The former Wilma Staples, was bom in Seaforth on November 4, 1924. She was predeceased by her parents John F. Staples and the for­ mer Sarah Riley. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Radford was employed at Huronview in Clinton as a nurses aid. She was a member of Blyth United Church. Mrs. Radford was the beloved wife of the late William D. Radford and the dear sister of Kenneth Staples of Port Colborne. A brother, Gordon, predeceased her. Funeral services were held at the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home, Tasker Chapel, in Blyth on Friday, May 10 at 2 p.m. Rev. Paul Ross was the officiating clergy. Pallbearers were: Rob Noakes, Ivan Wolfe, Merv Ritchie, Lavern Clark, John Rinn and Lyle Young- blut. Interment was at Blyth Union Cemetery. RONALD THOMAS TUNNEY Ronald Thomas Tunney passed away suddenly at Cambridge Memo­ rial Hospital on Tuesday, March 5, 1991. He was 48. Mr. Tunney was the beloved hus­ band of the former Carol Noll and the dear son of Mona and Freeman. He was the loved brother of Mauna Lynne (Dave) Thompson, Kaye (Leonard) Long of Tecswalcr and Pam (Ralph) Fortney of Dccmerton. He will be sadly missed by his broth­ ers-in-law and nephews and nieces. Mr. Tunney lived his early years in Blyth and Teeswatcr and had been an employee of Babcock and Wilcox Canada in Cambridge for over 25 years. He was past president of the Ratepayers Association in Preston Heights and past president of the Valpine Campers Association. He and his wife were the first associate members of the Kitchener unit of the Korea Veterans Association for whom he spear-headed drives for toys for underprivileged children. Friends were received at the Coults and Son Funeral Home in Cambridge on Thursday evening, where the Korea Veterans Association conduct­ ed their memorial service and read a poem that had been written for him by the Padre (Korea Veterans Associ­ ation). Visitation was held at the MacPherson Funeral Chapel in Tees waler on Friday evening with the funeral on Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m. Father Mike Downey officiated. A eulogy was given by David Mac­ Donald of Ayr, a friend, in Mr. Tun- ney’s honour. Pallbearers were: David MacDon­ ald, Delroy Bonham, Graham Jack- son, Leonard Long, Ralph Fortney, and David Thompson. Flowerbearer was Dean Fortney, Mr. Tunney’s nephew. Burial took place at Culross Ceme­ tery, Teeswatcr. Relatives and friends gathered at Teeswater United Church after the service. Rev. David Fearon pronounced the blessing- Always a smile instead of a frown. Always a hand when one is down. Always true, thoughtful and kind. Wonderful memories he left behind. Although his smile is gone forever And his hand we cannot touch. Still we have so many memories Of the one we loved so much. ARTHUR JONES Arthur Jones, of RR2, Listowel, died on Monday, May 6, 1991 at Wingham and District Hospital. He was 80 years of age. Mr. Jones was bom on August 3, 1910. He spent most of his life in THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 15,1991. PAGE 33. Quebec City and at the age of 18 began working at the Anglo-Cana­ dian Pulp and Paper Mills. He remained there until World War II, when he enlisted into the Royal Canadian Air Force and went to serve his country for the next five years. Returning to Canada after the war, Mr. Jones resumed employ­ ment at the paper mill as an electri­ cian, staying with the same employer until his retirement. In 1975, he achieved a life-long dream, building a new home, and starting a career as a farmer. Throughout his life, Mr. Jones touched many and he shall always be remembered by his family and friends. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Betts Funeral Home in Brussels. Father Stan Soltysik offi­ ciated at the service held on Wednesday, May 8. Interment was as St. Ambrose Cemetery in Brus­ sels. VERA KERNAGHAN Vera Kemaghan of Brussels died suddenly at Wingham and District Hospital on May 7, 1991. She was 77. A sister, Mrs. Doris (Jim) Lamont of London also survives her. Mrs. Kemaghan was predeceased by her husband, Cliff and son Rae, in 1982. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday from Betts Funeral Home in Brussels. Rev. Carolyn McAvoy officiated. Inter­ ment was at Brussels Cemetery. WINIFRED DUNHAM A resident of Gorrie, Mrs. Winifred Dunham, passed away on Friday, May 3, 1991 at Wingham and District Hospital. She was in her 89th year. She was the beloved wife of Harold Dunham, who predeceased her in 1982. She was the loving mother of Cynthia and Herman Van Pelt of Gorrie and the dear grandmother of Claire Orr of Burlington, Kathie Tucker of Flori­ da, Jane Spencer of Scarborough and Ellen White of London. Mrs. Dunham is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. At the family’s request there was no visitation and cremation has taken place. Arrangements were entrusted to Betts Funeral Home in Gorrie.
