The Citizen, 1991-05-15, Page 2PAGE 2. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 15,1991. Darters off to B.C. Two Brussels Legion members will fly to British Columbia Friday to take part in their first national Legion dart championship. Eric Ross and Bob Richardson won the Ontario Provincial champi onship April 27 in competition at the Winston Churchill Branch in Toronto against 36 teams from nine districts in Ontario. They were undefeated in six rounds of best- ttvo-of-three play never needing to go to the third game until the cham pionship game against a team of Ajax. That won them the chance to play against teams from nine other provinces and the territories this weekend in Vernon, B.C. They'll arrive Friday and stay until Tues day, playing their particular part of the competition on Saturday. They're looking forward to a trip to the beautiful Okanagan Valley community in the spring. Some people have told them once they see the valley they'll never want to come home, Bob says. It's the farthest either of the men has gone in Legion competition although they have done well in numerous tournaments over the years. Both started playing in 1977. Bob moved to Drayton from Brus sels in 1985 but still remains a member of the Brussels branch and returns for branch activities. Shooting for the win Rob Richardson and Eric Ross have been practicing their darts in preparation to take part in this weekend's national Legion dart championships. The two won the provincial title in April and will journey to Vernon, B.C. this weekend tor the national tournament.
