SERVICE I BLYTH PRINTING INC BLYTH 523-9211 It was spring clean-up time in Blyth when the Grade 5 class at Blyth Public School went to work at the Blyth Horticultural Park on Thursday. Cost of telephone system keeps coming down The cost of the telephone system for the Blyth municipal office is com ing down according to quotes revealed at the April 23 meeting of village council. Council had originally been given a cost of $3000 for a system to serve the office as well as the public works garage and the pumphouse. The sys tem would have eight telephones and two lines, with provision for extra lines for a FAX machine or computer hookup. Councillor Dave Lee carried out investigations for the April 11 meet ing of council that got prices from two other companies including a bid from Wightman Telephone for the same system used by Bell but at a considerably lower price. That quote, however, was for less sophisticated telephones and when Bell was asked to quote on the same units, it's price came in slightly cheaper than Wightman. Final requirements of the system were not decided on at the time of the meeting but it appears the cost will be more than $1000 less than the original quo tation. Students present concert Students of Shirley E.Vincent pre sented their annual recital at Blyth United Church April 22. Students from all levels performed for the audience.
