There were 452 steers on offer selling from $86 to $97.75 to the high of $104. Twenty-three steers consigned by Wm. Bennett & Sons, Gorrie averaged 1310 lbs. sold for $101.09 to the high of $104. Forty-four steers consigned by W. B. Pletch Co. Ltd., Rockwood averaged 1239 lbs. sold for $97.24 to the high of $101. Sixteen steers consigned by Don Beatty, Stayner averaged 1333 lbs. sold for $95.85. Three steers consigned by Mur­ ray Shiell, Wingham averaged 1313 lbs. sold for $94.81 to the high of $97.75. A record showing of 42 interest­ ed 4-H members and several parents attended. The leaders for this year’s club are Ken Mewhinney, Don Alton and Kim Higgins. The leaders reviewed the re­ quirements of the club for this year and told of upcoming events for the 4H vet club organizes The first meeting of the 4-H North Huron Veterinary Club was held on Tuesday, April 16 at the Blyth Vet Clinic. There were 12 members and two leaders, Lavern Clark and Phil Garriock, present.
