Winning all five of his races to date, he has already qualified for the important Supercross race to be held at Pontiac’s Silverdome on April 13 and 14. The events have been drawing riders from Indiana and Ohio and Brett has made $3,000 in contin gency money. To become champion in his class he will have to be at the top 20 qualifying riders from this series of races. Brett’s father, Chris, said he has already earned his place in the Supercross with his performances so far. “I know as his father I'm partial, but I’m proud of how he has raced. He has really done well,'' Mr. Lee said. Also interesting to note is that Brett is racing a full-sized bike for the first time having purchased a 125 dirt bike this past Christmas. Although they lost, Blyth finished up in style as they played a solid game even though they were outscored 2-0. The Pee Wees completed their season with a record of 31 wins, 15 losses and three ties. They partici pated in four tournaments as they were runners up in the Zurich Pee Wee Tourney, the Legion Zone tournament and the Kincardine Silver Stick “C” Division tourna ment. Success finally came their way in Goderich as they were the “D” Division Consolation Cham pions at Young Canada Week. In the 49 games played the team scored 211 goals and only allowed 110 goals. Goaltenders Mike de Jong and Chris Lee shared 11 shut-outs along the way as they shared the puck stopping duties. A father-son game was played on Tuesday with the fathers, perhaps for the final time, still showing the boys how to play the game. Hopefully the Pee Wees improved their skills this season to better prepare them for the future, both on and off the ice. Thanks for the many fine memories this season.
