She was in her 63rd year. The former Margaret Mary San­ derson was bom in Tumberry township. She is survived by her husband Allan of RR 2, Wroxeter. Left to mourn her passing are her children and their families: Bill and Dorothy Edgar of Bluevale; Mar­ garet Ann and Bruce Murray of Arthur; Chester Allan Edgar of Alberta; Jeannette and John Van- Loo of Bluevale; Gordon and Bethany Edgar of Bluevale; Mat­ thew and Muriel Edgar of Wroxe­ ter; Kathy and Rick Hicks of Listowel and Mary Jane and Gerry Cyr of Linwood. She will also be remembered by her 13 grandchild­ ren. Mrs. Edgar is the dear sister of Bill Sanderson, Cecil and his wife Laura Sanderson, Hazel (Mrs. Howard) Ryan and Ruby (Mrs. George) Burgers. Also surviving is her father-in-law Stanley Edgar. Mrs. Edgar was predeceased by her parents Roy and Margaret Sanderson, two brothers, Gordon and George (in infancy) and her mother-in-law Margaret Edgar. Funeral services were held at Betts Funeral Home in Gorrie at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 31. Rev. Paul Chambers officiated. Interment will take place at Gorrie Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetic Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. VIC EMERSON Residents of the Whitechurch community, where he had lived for many years, are mourning the death of a longtime friend, William Victor Emerson. He passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Callander Nursing Home, Brussels, where he had been living in recent years. He was in his 98th year. Victor Emerson was born April 13, 1893, in West Wawanosh Township. He farmed on Conces­ sion 3 of Kinloss Township from 1922 until 1946 when he moved to Whitechurch. He did carpentry work as a sideline. He was a member of Chalmers Presbyterian Church, Whitechurch. Mr. Emerson’s lifetime compan­ ion was the former Valeria Tiffin who became his wife July 1, 1924, at Moorefield. During their years at Whitechurch, she was the village news correspondent for The Advance-Times, amazing her read­ ers with her ability to find news in almost any happening in the com­ munity. She is now a resident of Callander Nursing Home. He was the dear uncle of Eldon Emerson of St. Catharines and is also survived by three great-nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral service was conducted Friday at two o’clock at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wing­ ham. Rev. John Neilson officiating. Final resting place will be Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow. AUDREY MCTAGGART Audrey McTaggart of Mitchell passed away suddenly at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, February 1, 1991. She was 67. The former Audrey Byerman married Ross McTaggart who sur­ vives her. She will be sadly missed by her children: Douglas Ross McTaggart of Mitchell, Gail and Ron Smith of Brodhagen and daughter-in-law Doris. She was the beloved grandmother of Debbie and Andrew McTaggart and Rhon­ da and Becky Smith. Two brothers and three sisters also survive her. Mrs. McTaggart rested at Betts Funeral Home in Brussels from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. on Sunday. Rev. Bonnie Cole Arnal officiated at the funeral service the following after­ noon. Spring interment will take place at Brussels Cemetery. In remembrance donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Founda­ tion would be appreciated. WINNIFRED EDGAR A Rebekah Lodge memorial ser­ vice was held at Betts Funeral Home on Monday evening for Winnifred Edgar who passed away on Sunday, February 3, 1991 at Wingham and District Hospital. She was 80. Predeceased by her husband Murdie Edgar in 1939, she will be mourned by her children John and his wife Lola of Georgetown; Don and his wife Mary of Chesley Lake; and Jim of Brussels. She was predeceased by her son Bruce in 1989. Services were held at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Spring interment will be held at Brussels Cemetery. The family would appreciate memorial donations made to the Melville Presbyterian Church in Brussels. The Canadian National Institute for the Blind or the Heart and Stroke Foundation as expres­ sions of sympathy.
