Hall signs missing
A fire believed to have started in
the area of the oil furnace destroy
ed the M. C. Smith Appliance
warehouse at RR 2, Listowel, in
Grey Township on Wednesday,
January 23.

teers were called by a neighbour at

A minor accident occured on
Saturday afternoon near Ethel on
County Road 16.
OPP say Kelly O’Regan of King
St., Walton was travelling west on
16 when her 1987 Plymouth struck
a snowdrift on an icy section of the
road. Ms. O’Regan went off the
roadway, entered the south ditch
and rolled her car.

Cecil John Graham of London
was sentenced to prison for two
years less a day because of a 1986
incident in Goderich, where Rick
Pringle of Auburn was stabbed
eight times outside a hotel on The
Square.
Mr. Graham was originally
charged with attempted murder,
but after appearing before Judge
Gary Hunter in Goderich District
Court on December 12, 1987, he
was given a lesser charge of
aggravated assault. His sentence
also includes a one-year probation
period and a five-year probation
against possessing any type of a
weapon.

for a weekend of cross-country
