PAGE 21. Break Enter and thefts over the Christmas/New Year’s holiday period were a problem. On Decem ber 24, 1990 a Mary street resi dence in Clinton was entered through an unlocked rear door and $75 in cash was stolen from a purse after the thief went all the way through the house to get at the purse which was in the dining room. Checks by the police reveal ed that the thief had checked all the houses in that block. Another Break and Enter similar to the aforementioned one took place on Isaac Street, Clinton the same date, when a thief entered a home through an unlocked door, Crime Stoppers walked through the residence while the family slept and took $100 from a purse. There were tracks in the snow to indicate that the culprit was in other back yards and that the thief went out onto Dunlop street. On January 3, 1991 a thief broke into Murphy’s Bus lines and was still in the building when he was met by others going into the building. The would-be thief fled with a 12” crow bar in his hand. The burglar is described as a white male in his 40’s, about 5’5”, small build and was wearing a medium brown parka with the hood up and drawn tight. The culprit may have had a moustache.
