Kinloss Council met in the municipal
office at Holyrood on December 3 with Reeve
Johnston and .all council present..
,Apereval Was given for a demolition
•permit &Harold Elliott for a barn on lot 16,
concession 8.
• Application has been made to the Ministry
of Transportation and .Communications for
an interim subsidy for 1979, The application.
of Kenneth Houston for a building permit for
lot 14, concession 5 to make an addition to'a
horse barn was accepted.
Mr. Pick from the Ministry of Natural
Resources at Wingham attended council and
discussed trapping, deer population, dog
problems, beaver dams, etc.
General accounts for $42,825.70 were
ordered paid which included $27,614.52 fQr
the fourth instalment to th6 Bruce County
Board of Education, $3,275.19 for .tile
'drainage and $2,896.01 for interest and
principal for the Lucknow and District
Medical Centre.
Highway accounts of .$30,091.75 included
$6,027.90 to Joe Kerr Ltd. for crushed gravel
and loader rental and. $18,133.67 to Reeves
Construction I,td.. for hauling granular "B"
gravel.

The position has not been filled by a
Kincardine Township •representative since
William Shewfelt held the post in 1944. The
appointment is for one year.
Warden Thompson said he gave a short
acceptance Speech Monday eight, 'nothing
elaborate, just thanking everybody."
He said, "ni be depending on (township)
council a little more this year. My first
obligation will be to the county and mi be
away a bit more."
As warden, Reeve Thompson will act as
chairman of the. Session and be an ex -officio
member of all. committees. "I'll also be
-iiivolved inpublic relations for the county
and co-ordinating activities," he said.
Warden Thompson replaces Art Speers of
Tara in the post. He has been a member of
township council for nine years, serving his
first two as deputy -reeve before stepping up
to the position of reeve. •
