HOWARD ALLEN BENNETT On Monday, October 29th, 1979, at North York General Hospital, Toronto, Howard Allen Bennett died in his fiftieth year, eldest son of the late Harry Bennett 'and his wife Margaret Smith of Tor- onto. Left to mourn are his wife, the former Marjorie Emma Haldenby, (daughter of Arth- ur and Lillian Haldenby of Kinlough) and his son and daughter-in-law, Howard Jr.. and Heather Bennett of Toronto, and one brother, Norman of Detroit, Michi- gan. A lifetime employee of the Grey Coach Lines, of Toron- to, Howard was 'attached to the Internal audit depart-;,, ment. Active as well in church, he served for many years as warden for St. Dunstan's Anglican Church, Landsdowne Ave., of which he was a faithful"•member until failing health overtook him. Funeral . service was held on Thursday, November 1, 1979, from O'Connor Funeral Home, Lawrence; Avenue East, Scarborough, conduct- ed by onduct-ed.by Rev. Petcy.of St. Dun- stan''s. Interment followed in York Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Ed- wards, Wm, Partridge, "(Grey Coach Lines),Howard and Brian Whiteside, nephews; Douglas•Sparling and Rodger Babcock. C'ATHERTNE MARY LANNAN` Mrs.:..Catherine Mary Lannan, •a resident of the T 'L G M.anor Nursing Home in Newmarket, , died at her resid.ence' on Friday; October 26 atthe age of 80, i She wa•s. . born in, Kingsbridge on June, 14, 1899 to Stephen and Mary' (Hogan) Martin She lived in Kingsbridge until going to Newmarket ' in the fall. of 1968. \ She was a : member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Kingsbridge. On June 14, 1922 she married William Patrick Lannan in Kingsbridge. He survives her. seAlso . surviving are en children, Mrs. Wilamina Hill' of Agin- court, Clare of Perkin - §field, Mrs.,:. ' A funeral service was held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kingsbridge on Monday, October 29 at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Father Ed Dentinger officiated. Interment was in St.. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Kingshridge.' Pallbearers were Jim Martin, Arnold Verhallen, Bill Hogan, Eldon Austin, John Austin . and Francis Hogan. GEORGE ALBERT TIFFIN • George Albert Tiffin of Lucknow, died in ' University Hospital, London on Sunday, October 28, 1979. He was 74. A farmerin the Langside area in Kinloss Township., be retired to Lucknow in .1958., He was born in Kinloss on April 9, 1905, a son of .the late Joseph Tiffin orLaiig= -side and the late Mary Taylor of Langside. He married Isabel Pardon at Whitechurch on May 29, 1929. ,. Besides his wife, • he is survived by one daughter Colleen,.Mrs. Hugh MacMil- lan, of Watford, and three grandsons, Greg of Watford, 'David of Watford and Paul of Edmonton. He was born in Goderich on July 2, 1923 to Girvin and Irene (Long) Young. He was a" life long resident of Goderich. He worked in production control at Champion Road Machinery Limited and was chairman of'the Committee of Adjust- ment for the Town of •Goderich.
