Hallowe'en .costume party in Purple Grove
Of interest this week
was the party held in the
Community Centre on
Wednesday evening when
children, parents and
friends gathered to
celebrate Hallowe'en.
Costumes were varied
and - many guesses
required to reveal the
hidden identities. A most
enjoyable program of
games and stories was
prepared and conducted
by Mrs. Bill Van Rooyen,
and this was followed by
the distribution of treats
in keeping with the oc-
casion.
A number of ladies
from the . community
attended the Cooking
School on "Tricks with
Mixes" held in the Ripley
United Church on
Thursday evening.

visitors this week of Mr.

Frank, Emerson of
Goderich spent the
weekend with his
grandmother, Marion

tending the graduation

was back from
Collingwopd last weekend

Elevators had reached a

Wardell of the fourth
concession west in Huron
township spent two days
visiting with LdisWardell
of New Hamburg` and Mr.
and Mrs. Mike, .Ashton
and family, of Bright.
With nice weather and
dry conditions under foot
it was a nice Hallowe'en
for the children of this
area to go trick or treat
last Wednesday evening.
Once againit was nice to
have young folks from the
surrounding country
come into Ripley. Some
of the parents decked out
in smart costumes ac-
companied their small
children.
Sympathy at this time
of bereavement goes to
Donald Regier of Ripley,
also to Burton Griffith of
Ripley, and to Jack
Lawrie of the Tiverton
area, a frequentvisitor in
Ripley. As reported on
radio each had a father
or mother pass away in
the last week.
With ice in the arena
since mid October Mrs. -
Helen Grubb is back with
her weekly schedule for
the Ripley Huron Com-
plex.
