Helen who is in Grade 10 won $100 recently in the Loto Canada. It has been reported that Helen has been lucky on a few other occasions. Helen is an active student at R.D.S. She participates in in- tramural sports, singing groups and she is a member of the cheerleading squad. We hope Helen's school spirit catches on with the other students. THEATRE ARTS. The team consisted of Kevin Boyle, Joe Nugent, and Jeff MacTavish..In the midget division Kevin placed fifth and Joe placed ninth. Jeff placed fifth in the senior division. GUIDANCE On Wed., Oct. 24, the University of Western Ontario is sending another representative to R.D.S. The represen- tative will be in the guidance office if any of the students wish to talk to him. On Mori., Oct.22, during fourth period, a member of the Canadian Armed Forces visited thea grade nines. A member of the Canadian Armed Forces usually comes every year to speak to the students. COMMENCEMENT For the last few weeks, members of the Glee Club, mass chojr and the group have been prac- tising their songs for Commencement. The music directors are Cathy Nugent, Corinne Boyle and Tom ' Wilson and they have been working very hard preparing the music. VOLLEYBALL The Ripley teams travelled to Kincardine on Tues., Oct. 16. The •junior and senior boys and junior girls won their matches. The senior girls failed to win a game.
