Kinloss will clean out creek

Kinloss Council met Oct-
ober 1 with the reeve and all
council members present,
Bruce Bushell appeared be-
fore council to petition for a
partial clean out of the Mac-
Dcinald-Bushell and north
west section of the Black
.Creek, extension drain. His
backhoe was hired at $20 an
hour to do the. work.
La 'Leche has
two groups
La Leche League now has
two groups in Huron County.
LLL Hensall will serve the
south; and LLL Belgrave, the
north.
Mrs. J. Bisback and Mrs.
B. " Kerr co -lead the LLL.
Hensall meeting in Exeter at
the home of 'Mrs. W. Gra-
ham, concerning Nutrition
and Weaning. The mothers
became aware of the values
of a varied diet, and natural
foods, The identiciation of
four grains in various forms
was enjoyed by all. The
statement by' the Canadian'
and American Pediatric Sod-
iety that ,breastmilk :was the
superior nutrition for infants
up to six months was review-
ed. It was recommended that
solids be added `gradually,'
beginning with bananas and
meats. A socialhour follow-
ed,...

will meet every third Tues-

CHILDRENS.AID SOCIETY
The 'childrens aid is look-
ing 'for people with spare
time to help drive children to
appointments or visits at
home. They are paid for
mileage. It benefits the child
for they can have more
things done rather than
waiting for a worker tohave
time.
Some volunteers work with
some of the families helping
the mother care .for the
children and 'the house, They
spend time at the home
showing basic care and mak-
ing sure it gets done.
Volunteer work is not
always constant it is just a
few hours occasionally and it
is one way for .the coMmunity
to become involved in:. the
protection of children:
Building applications were
approved for Edwin Middle-
brook, lot 1, concession 2'f6r
an implement shed; G & E
Sales and Service for a
lean-to storage and Marjorie
MacLeod, lot 46, concession
1, for a garage.
Council accepted ,the peti-
tion of Barry 'Johnston for a
municipal drain, lot 2, con-
cession 7 and W. J. Bartlett
and Associates Ltd. were
appointed to prepare a sur-
vey plan and profile for
same.
General accounts for
$9,592.41 and highways ac-
counts for $23,811.92 were
'ordered paid.
On September 24th, coun-
cil authorized the clerk,
