The Lucknow Sentinel, 1979-10-17, Page 27Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, October 17, 1979 -Page 27 Lucknow and area obituaries ABIGAIL LORETTA CLIFFORD Abigail Loretta Clifford of Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow, died on Friday, September 14, 1979• at the age .of 82. Born in St, Marys on March 5, 1897, she was the daughter of the late Patrick James Clifford and the late Mary Elizabeth Sullivan. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth MacMillan of Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow and several nieces and neph- ews. She was predeceased by a brother, John and two sist- ers, Mary Clifford and Nan- cy, Mrs. Frank Given. The funeral was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, Septem- ber 17, 1979 with Rev. Ed Dentinger conducting the mass. Pallbearers were Cliff MacMillan, Jim MacMillan, James MacMillan Jr., Greg- ory MacMillan, Andrew MacMillan and Dan Mac- Millan. Funeral arrangements were in charge of MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home. Burial followed in Green- hill Cemetery. ANNIE [JOHNSTON] FARRISH Mrs. Annie 'Farrish passed away on October 4, 1979 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in her 93rd year. She was born in Ashfield Township, the daughter of the tate Mr. and Mrs, Wil- liam A. Johnston. She is survived by tour daughters and one son,. Mrs. Margaret Dosdall and Mrs. Lillian McMaster of Saska- toon, Saskatchewan, .Mrs. Jean Yaeger, Simeoe, Ont- ario; Mrs. June Matheson', Clagary, Alberta and Bill of Toronto; several grandchild- ren and great grandchildren; also three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Jean MacKe- ith, Vancouver, B.C., Mrs. Grace Farrish and Mrs. Jessie Maclntyre, Lucknow and Bill of Kintail. She was predeceased by her husband David, and a son David and brother Alex and Noble. Interment took place in Semans, Saskatchewan. LUETTA [BOK] FOWLER Luetta May Bok, beloved wife of Harold Fowler, pas- sed away on October 10th, 1979, in Wingham and Dist- rict Hospital in her 62nd year. Born January 18th, 1918, at St. Marys, Ontario, she is the daughter of Lillian Kelly and Edward" Bok. She is survived by her husband, Harold Johnstone 'Fowler of St. Helens; two sons, Douglas of . Caledon and Kenneth of .Orangeville; and one daughter, Janice., at home; three grandchildren, one brother, Leonard Bok of Wingham. She was prede- ceased byy her parents. Mrs. Fowler had been in poor health and afflicted by blindness for some time but was always of a cheerful disposition. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Father A. Sonderup of Wingham from the Currie -Walker Funeral .Home on Saturday, . October 13, 1979, with interment in, Greenhill Cemetery, Luck - now. The pallbearers were Arth- ur Baumann, William Camp- bell, Kenneth Scott, Richard McQuillin, Dynes Campbell and Gordon Fowler. CRYSTA LEY HARRISON A private funeral service was held from the MacKenzie Funeral Home in Lucknow last week for Crysta Ley Harrison, three month, eight day old daughter of Richard and Janet (nee Gibson) Harrison of RR 4 Flesherton. She passed away in', Toronto Hospital for Sick Children on October 6, 1979. The funeral service was held Sunday, October 7, 1979. Former Lucl�now dentist dies • DR. JAMES E. LITTLE The community was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Dr. James E. Little at his home, Have- lock Street, Lucknow, on October 3, 1979, due to :a heart attack. He leaves to mourn his wife, the former Evelyn MacLeod, whom he married in -November, 1936. The only son of the late Edward Little and the late Christena Mac- Kinnon, he was born Nov- ember 16, 1901. Dr. Little was born and raised in Calument, Michi- gan, and came with his parents in 1922 to live on the 4th concession of Kinloss. For six years he taught school at S. S. No. 5 Kinloss, and the following -year he taught in the Boy's Training School in Bowmanville, Ont- ario. He left the teaching pro- fession to enter the Univer- sity of Toronto, graduating as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1935, from which time he practiced dentistry in Luck - now until his retirement in 1969. Early in his practice he pioneered in School Dentist- ry. His Violin was .a special pleasure to him and his interest in music continued. throughout his life, having foamed and played in orches- tras, and taught violin les- sons up to the time of his -death. His church and Masonic Lodge held great interest for him. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church for , 40 years. He was a member of Old Light Lodge it 184 for 51 years. During that time he was Past District Deputy of North Huron District A.F. & A.M., Past 1st Principal in Royal Arch Chapter # 147., i. and a 32nd degree Mason. Old Light Lodge conducted a Masonic service Friday even- ing, with several Past Dist- rict Deputies and Brethren, throughout the area attend- ing The funeral service was held October 6, from the MacKenzie and• McCreath Funeral Home, with Rev. Wm. Munshaw of Lucknow Presbyterian Church, offic- iating. Burial followed in South Kinloss Cemetery. Honourary pallbearers were Wm. Porteous, George Kennedy, Virden Mowbray, Gordon Fisher, Ted Collyer, Frank MacKenzie and Jack MacDonald. ' Pallbearers were Jim Hen= derson, Norman Taylor, Gor- don Johnstone, Ross Gain- mie, Leonard Machines and Lloyd MacDougall. Flower bearers were Rod- ney and Martin MacLeod and Wade Walker. MRS. AIMEE JANE McCULLOUGH Mrs. .Aimee Jane 1VcCullough of R.R. 3 Goderich died in Maitland Manor nursing hone. Goderich on. { Tuesday, October 9 after a lengthy illness at the ague of 85. She was born on February 9, 1694 in the County of York, Ontario to Alexander and Jane (Deans) Quinton. She was a retired employee of the Robert Simpson Company. She was married to. Alvin Morse McCullough who predeceased her. She was. also predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R.M. (Beth) Drennan of R.R. 3 Goderich; and one grandson, David Dren- nan. A funeral service was held at McCallum Funeral Home in Goderich on Thursday, October 11 at 2 p.m. The Reverend Ronald C. McCalturn officiated. Interment ' was in Kintail Cemetery" Pallbearers were David Drennan, John Drennan, Ross Bailey and Ben Johnston. Parents to child psychologist; "The very minute. we. stop showering him' with at- tention, he acts spoiled. - NELSON MacINTOSH RAYNARD Nelson Macintosh Ray- nard of Lucknow died at University Hospital in Lon- don on Monday, October 8, 1979, in his 77th year. Born in Kinloss Township, he was the second son of the late Maxwell Raynard and the late Mary Webster. His parents later moved to Ash- field Township, where Mr. Raynard lived until he'retired from farming and moved to Lucknow in 1965. Surviving besides his wife, the former Clara Ritchie, 'whom he married, in Feb- ruary of 1929, are three_. daughters. Dorothy, Mrs. Donald Murray of Holyrood; Lillian, Mrs. Russel Irvin, Ashfield and Ruth, Mrs. Fred Shropshall of Clinton and three sons, Douglas of Ashfield; Bruce of West Wawanosh . and ', -ehris of Aylmer. . Twenty" -one grandchildren and four great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. George Twamley of Listowel, also survive. He was predeceased by one brother, Melvin, two sisters, Lillian, Mrs. Walter Alton and Pearl, Mrs, Harold Ferguson and one grandson, Jerry Irvin. The funeral was conducted by. Rev. Douglas Kaufman of Lucknow United Church on Wednesday, October 10, 1979 at the MacKenzie and. McCreath Funeral Home in Lucknow. Burial followed in Green- hill Cemetery. Mr. Raynard was carried ....to ..rest by six grandsons, Glenn Raynard, Donald Shropshall, Rick Shropshall, Allan Murray, William Irvin and Dale Irvin. Flower bearers were five granddaughters, Susan Iry- in, Marlene Murray, Diane Raynard, Kathy Raynard and Marian Raynard.
